Dust 514 is a long-term project and CCP Games has just employed its new steward. VG247′s Dave Cook meets executive producer and veteran of the free-to-play scene Jean-Charles Gaudechon to talk about what happens next.
Sorry but nothing can save dust. CCP ruined it by opening it to the world when it was broken beyond play. Too many terrible first impressions. #DustisDead
Here are some charts to look at: http://eve-offline.net/?ser... Eve guys love charts and data! If you look at the 3 month new player data you can see it's pretty consistent in getting them. I would bet it's a lot better at holding on to them now. You are totally right about the 1st impressions though, you don't get a second chance at that and a lot of people have already made up their minds. I've been playing since the 1st closed beta invites (which I got from an article seen on N4G) and I've seen the game progress so much. They've made a lot of changes and many of them based on player feedback. If they keep working on it there is a chance it could still hold on for a while. F2P is huge in lower income countries as well as the Asian market. I haven't played as much as I used to, but I've noticed a lot more South American players recently. With the upcoming removal of the console bans in China, Dust could also get some love there.
