Obama Compared Buying Health Insurance To PlayStation

Dual Pixels - If you didn’t manage to pre-order a PlayStation 4 on Amazon.com, it’s probably going to be a difficult time tracking one down in retailers, so difficult that even Obama has acknowledged the challenge when pitching his Affordable Care Act recently.

I feel really bad for anyone trying to get a PS4 at retail price. I already see many craiglist/Ebay sellers asking for a lot of money. All I know is that I'm going to feel like a kid again this holiday season! Greatness Awaits ;) Got a laugh after reading the comment on how Sony wasn't kidding about this being their largest amount spent in advertisement lol

Hydrolex1491d ago

Thanks, this was really news worthy... Obama saying the PlayStation word :///

Hydrolex1491d ago (Edited 1491d ago )

I know one thing tho, his kids want the Playstation 4

They kept telling him about the new playstation and how bad they want it, that's why it was right there on his tongue and knew about the new playstation

cleft51491d ago

That is an awesome moment. How much mind share does Sony have right now after a statement like that by the President.

Obama also mentioned Xbox a few weeks ago..

"The American people do not get to demand a ransom for doing their jobs. You don't get a chance to call your bank and say, 'I'm not going to pay my mortgage this month unless you throw in a new car and an Xbox."

@jatakk
I guess his kids noticed and told him "No! We want the playstation" so he changed up this time.

LMAO Shu is hilarious
That's awesome!
XD

The dude behind him to the right even snickered when he said playstation. Note that could have easily just said video game console or xbox as it's the one from america but no, he said "new playstation".

Talk about free publicity, the president just announced that there's a new playstation. That 30 second clip was definitely newsworthy.

PS4... it's gonna be a big deal

NewMonday1491d ago

This a sign PS4 is also dethroning Xbox in American popular culture, if you asked anyone last year they would say its impossible

malokevi1490d ago

@newmonday

And two weeks ago, it was Xbox:

If anything, he said this in order to try and be fair and balanced, or because Sony's faithful were pelting him with Tomatoes in the streets.

I'm pretty sure Xbox will take Obama's speech as their new Xbox slogan: “Unlike the day after Thanksgiving sales for the latest PlayStation, the Xbox One don’t run out. We are not going to sell-out. They'll be available thought the marketplace. So that everybody who wants an Xbox One thought the marketplace will get an Xbox One" as they'll be plenty of unsold stock to pick up. XD jk.

He would have been briefed on which console to name drop. This is good news. PS4 has gained 'consumer' mindshare in America, confirmed.

pyramidshead1490d ago

Not to mention the amount of pre-orders in MS primary turf, even after the game delays!

steve30x1491d ago

The same thing happened on Xbox 360 , PS3 and WIIU launch. some people bought one or two consoles for the sole purpose to sell them at double the retail price on Ebay

ZBlacktt1491d ago

I lol'd when I saw this. Was wondering when it would make it's way here. :D

ghoh11491d ago

hahaha i guess everybody can be bought.

sashimi1491d ago

Crossbones1491d ago

Vic_Mackey1491d ago

They should both be destroyed. Buck Ofama.

Crossbones1490d ago

No, Fuck Republicans and Xbox. Both of them are liars.

Grave1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

If you don't think democrats are liars just like the republicans, then you are part of the problem.

GrandpaSnake1491d ago

obama just knows about huge JPN key items. it will be huge for ps4 these next few years.
