Im sorry to say but does anyone agree with me that the only way to actually learn guitar, is to play guitar?

jackanderson19851490d ago

thought you were playing an actual guitar on that game? what's the difference between bob in front of u or bob a programme designed to teach you?

No offense, but the only real way to learn a guitar is to learn by yourself get familiar with it.. I would know this second hand. My friend grew up playing around with guitar his whole life. Never learned to read music just screwed around, to this day I still believe he is the best guitar player that I have ever heard.

That can get really stale and mundane and frustrating. But everyone has their own method I guess. Kudos to your buddy

I'm having a blast with it so far though. Can't wait to spend more on it!

Sorry, but even though I learned the same way you're talking about, I fully disagree that it's the "only" way to learn guitar. Learning it that way works but can also be very intimidating and can be easy to lose interest. This makes it more accessible to people by making a game out of it, which is a pretty common tool for teaching many things these days.

Is learning it by yourself a good way? Sure, it can be. But is it the ONLY way? Not even close. But neither can be considered the best way. "Best" is purely subjective when it comes to this.

Yea ive been playing for twelve years and I still like playing Rocksmith and it doesnt matter how you learned in the end its about how much you practice.

Im not here to argue with you, if anything I agree with you, this was solely a opinion that had a outstanding outcome. No it isn't the only way by far probably not the best. But you also have to take into consideration the fact that if you wanna learn something, and not get frustrated with it.. well there is no way at not getting frustrated with it, you want to have the soul and moral value too learn something, you have to bring it close to your heart and give in some motivation.. But yes I do agree with you.

Swiftcricket1489d ago

Now that I can agree with, it was just the way you worded it the first time that threw me for a loop.

Er, but you plug in a REAL guitar into the game and then it teaches you songs.
