DriveClub interview: unique drift mode detailed and community features fully explained

VVV: "The higher you maintain that speed, the more points you’ll be rewarded as you take that next corner. So there’s always a trade-off: do I just get sideways, scrub my speed and get a lot of points on that first corner and then struggle to build my speed back up to try and get a decent score on the second corner? Or do I just try and do an average drift around the first corner to keep my speed up so that I can really hit the second one? It’s quite tactical – there’s quite a lot of depth there, so we’re extremely proud of that.” (Driveclub, PS4)

Damn this game looks average. No wonder delayed because of forza 5. I except this to get around 70-80% metacritiv which is good and forza continue to be highest rated racer around.

How do you know these things ?

The game was delayed because it was far from finish. And they didn't want to rush it. The last direct feed seemed like the game was... good(though very unpolished) ?

And the game is free for Ps+ members, tbh i don't think they are going for a record here.

Driveclub PS+ edition is free for PS+ members. Driveclub is not free for PS+ members in the way many people seem to think. I figured by now everyone was aware of this. So it having a PS+ edition has nothing to do with the overall quality of the game.

So I don't understand what you meant by saying that they are not trying to go for records simply because the game has a PS+ edition when it is not even the full game.

Ps+ edition it's not a different game or even a demo version of it.

Its just a reduced/short version (Reduced numbers of tracks and cars) though complete (like access to multi-player or whatever the games has to offer).

Most of the Ps+ subscribers will not get the "Full version" of Driveclub after download the Ps+ edition of it. That's why I said not going for a record here.

The game looks average based on this article? What, out of a few screenshots? Which look really freaking great by the way. You do realize this game is far from complete, right? Usually polish is added to games right at the end of the development cycle.

Forza is a good series no doubt, it's neck and neck with GT in some regards. Counting DriveClub out before it's even near completion though? That's just really unwise.

Really now. You can predict all of that at this very moment in time. You sir are a scholar and a prophet.

This social stuff is my only beef with this game.

You know, there are lots of lonely single-players around... Hopefully Driveclub and Destiny will be fun to play solo

Game seems to be great, actually. The problem is with the article, that reads like we are witnessing a revolution of the racing genre.

Community based challenges, other driver's ghosts, specific challenges popping up at different parts of the track.. That has all been done in Forza Horizon some time ago. Treating it like it has never been done before is just wrong.

I hope Driveclub's merits reside in its handling and track selection (in its case, roads and highways).
