The fame platform – why game DVR for Xbox One and PS4 is a bigger deal than improved pixel porn

Save/Continue writes:

"Soon for the first time, console players will be able to indulge their egos and share experiences in the same way with the next generation of consoles; the ability to record and stream their own gaming moments marking a far more significant aspect of their design than the incremental visual fidelity that each will provide."

It really isn't... Lol

This is one feature I literally couldn't care less about.. I'm 31.. Sharing game clips is something I'll likely never do

Bitsnark1517d ago

Even if you yourself don't do it, shared footage by others can help in deciding whether you want to take a chance on a game or not.

Each to their own though!

And trailers are there why?

Septic1517d ago

What's age got to do with it?

For me its one of the biggest features really.

Godmars2901517d ago

Age has nothing to do with it. Its just his choice not to do it.

It doesn't matter that everyone and their grandmother does Let's Plays on Youtube or that Sony and MS have made and are pimping game streaming as a key feature.

Age has plenty to do with it.. Not in all cases but most

I dont care to get random followers or subscribers on YouTube as if it's going to make me famous or make a living.. Thats the majority of it, and unless my ears decieve me... Its mostly teenagers makibg these videos/channels..

Some guys seem older and actually do really cool stuff with bf3 etc.. And that would be cool to see more of... But we all know for every cool and informative video, there will be 100 junk ones

hankmoody1517d ago

I probably won't be doing much of it myself in all honesty but maybe on occasion, if I see something while I'm playing that I feel others should check out. I'm just concerned about the glut of videos that people are going to post regardless of quality.

n4rc1517d ago (Edited 1517d ago )

Fair enough... But we have YouTube for that already although I seem to forget how they get those on there to begin with..

In that regard.. It would be useful... I see it more of the dorks trying to do spinning jumping no scope kills.. Lol

Bitsnark1517d ago (Edited 1517d ago )

Yep we do, but when folks are browsing through PSN/Xbox Live Marketplace, its far more convenient to just click on a game and then click on the videos attached to it, rather than scouring through YouTube trying to separate the good from the bad (not to mention the varying quality of capture too).

And yep, you'll still see those spinning, jumping, no scope kills too! :)

Can't wait. This will make Let's Plays a lot easier to do.

Swiftcricket1517d ago

I'll love the feature just to save those awesome moments that happen in games such as BF just for myself. Not a fan of Let's Plays. But I still believe that the games themselves should take priority.
