Well you can only agree here; the tables have turned in terms how Sony and Microsoft have performed in the run up to the next-gen when comparing it to the start of this one.

But this is good because MS from being complacent. Now they have more pressure than ever to deliver and we've already seen how they've worked hard to fight back and win the audience. This next-gen has had an extremely interesting start.

THamm1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

I don't even see it close. The media can spin it but we've seen this before. MS will drop price sooner than you think... With EA or not, Sony doesn't need them, EA doesn't have the pull anymore and people are waking up

Septic1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

We shall see.

[edit] Sorry in my post above it should say "..this is good because it STOPS MS from being complacent".

The Meerkat1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

I agree THamm.

I expect that after the early adopters MS will see a huge sales slump. They will counter that with a dramatic price drop.

That's the point i'll get an X1.
I'm guessing about 10th June 2014

hellzsupernova1490d ago

I'm sorry but ea have the most pull Sony does need them, think about it, all the best sports games apart from NBA and baseball, the best multilayer fps in battlefield, the star wars license bioware, it is bullshit that you think Sony don't need them

BBBirdistheWord1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

yeah competition is good.

In this case MS has been forced to step up.
So far, they have done well in changing their course.
Now that they have felt the backlash from the community and showed how flexible and adaptable they can be, I wonder how things will turn out long term.

Interestingly, many on here are still celebrating the Ps4 reveal, which was awesome. Since then, what have we seen though? Not much, except game delays.

Edit @ below:
well we have seen MS make missteps and correct them. My point is that Sony has made missteps too, like game delays and cancelled pre-order bundles, but they seem to get a free pass from the community, while MS correct mistakes and get lambasted by self righteous fanboys.

I guess a balanced perspective is not quite possbile on here. Sorry, I really should know better.

GarrusVakarian1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

2014 is the year for the PS4. Apart from launch titles, what have we seen for X1?. Your statement works both ways.

People forgetting the PS3 launch compared to how many games/exclusives it has now, yet again. Look at how many exclusives the PS3 has had in recent years compared to the 360. People are going to go with the company that is blatantly more focused on games/gamers, not the company which ONLY has a strong launch line up, because consoles are for the best part of a decade, not just for launch.

Septic1490d ago

Well we have seen consistency in their messaging, something which MS haven't shown.

And that inspires a lot of consumer confidence because, whilst being flexible and adaptable are good things, being resolute in your vision in the first place and sticking to your guns are more admirable because it shows that you knew what you were doing all along.

majiebeast1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

After the launch lineup on Xbone there is nothing till Titanfall, which could be launching in April-June. While PS4 has an incredible ammount of F2P,Indie and digital games next to Driveclub and Infamous SS.

@Bird

Your welcome to leave the site, so sick of certain people always screaming omg N4G teh bias for Sony.

So according to you we should praise Microsoft for not bending us over, like they wanted to do just 3 months ago? Also game delays you mean Driveclub right? How does Sony cancel preorder bundles thats all on retailers and the only retailer stupid enough was Target.

You whine about people not having a balanced perspective ,but you yourself also dont give a balanced perspective.

thrust1490d ago

Hahahaha here we go again with this is the year for Sony!

8 years we had that for and only in the last year of the gen did they over take the xbox!

well here we go again

BBBirdistheWord1490d ago (Edited 1490d ago )

@ majie, i caught your quote before you edited:

"Your (sic) welcome to leave the site, so sick of xbone fanboys using the same lame excuse boohoo Xbone gets attacked its no fair mommy. "

Really?
So when someone asks for decent discussion and relevant respectful conversation on a public forum all you can do is bully and intimidate them into leaving?

Come on, buddy. You can do so much better.
Take off the fanboy hat and put the gamer hat back on. :)

D-riders1490d ago

I didn't know game delays was a bad thing? No one is going to delay a game to make it worse. Plus ms has had game delays as well. Not sure I understand your point

QuickdrawMcgraw1490d ago

I find people like Bird more self righteous then any MS or Sony fanboy.

Key quotes made by EA's Frank Gibeau:

"last time around Microsoft executed perfectly,” he tells us. “This time, Microsoft has run into some challenges"

"I think the Sony team has executed exceptionally well – and they did not execute particularly well on PS3"

“We’re not tilting Microsoft’s way; we are firm longterm supporters of Sony. I’m sure you’ll see tactical programmes between us and Sony in the future that we haven’t announced, but will make things much more balanced.”

“It won’t be about DLC any more, but rather subscriptions or F2P mechanics,”

"A digital-only future is possible, not probable.”

rainslacker1489d ago

That last quote actually made me happy. He even admits that there are many issues to "iron out".

Maybe now that it's come from the largest publisher in the world, people will stop saying how digital is the future for anytime in the foreseeable future.

Edvin19841490d ago

Competition is good for us consumers. I am getting both next gen systems because of the content on both. Never mind the internet blind rage both will do very well. Very excited for all the cool games we are getting.

GarrusVakarian1490d ago

I hate being called a consumer, it conjures up images of jabba the hutt eating noisily and quickly. Lol.

Regis1490d ago

You made my day I will always remember your comment.
