Tom Clancy’s The Division: how Ubisoft Massive is making next-gen’s hottest prospect

Edge:Don’t let the name deceive you: Ubisoft Massive isn’t an enormous studio. The Swedish developer of E3 2013’s biggest surprise numbers just 300 people. Naturally, as a modern Ubisoft project The Division will ultimately be made in co-development with the publisher’s global network of studios. For the moment, though, fewer than 300 people (15 of the team are working on a secret project) are making one of the next generation’s most exciting prospects. That is, by modern standards, a tiny team. Studio MD David Polfeldt knows that this is a bold ambition – and maybe a crazy one. (Culture, Ryan Barnard, Tom Clancy’s The Division)

watch_dogs and the division the only 2 games from ubisoft i really want

Since this game and The Crew seem like MMOs anyone think they are going to be subscription based?
SuperBlur  +   543d ago
hope not , already have to pay for ps+ , netflix and all the common shit an adult has to pay for every weeks/months , i do not want to have to pay a sub for my games.

I know, just seems like public figures in the gaming media are all about talking "services." Maybe its just in the articles I have been reading lately but "services" leads me to believe things like netflix and what is an MMO if not a service. Then FF14 and TESO having a monthly sub.

If I was in the media I would ask if there is a sub and see how they answer like Zenimax did and at E3 about TESO and say we are not talking about it or flat out say no.

I know so many pumped for Division it would be a shame for all of us to be skipping it because of a sub. The only thing is that it was not coming to PC at first where a monthly sub is more common.

That's just my 2 cents. What do you think? Any pros or cons about it being a sub or not.

i would be extremely disappointed if there was any form of paywall , guild wars is doing fine with the normal buy 2 play model. the sub other games ask for are just in for the greed of money.

I believe that the game will be buy and then play. I don't see them introducing a subscription based pricing model for this, especially if it is going to Xbox and PlayStation.

If it was just a PC game, I might be inclined to agree with you all.

Plus with them now having to compete with GTA Online (once they have all the issues ironed out) I don't see them adding that time of payment model either.
