Battlefield 5 to feature 'more destruction', 'due in just a few years'

Battlefield 5 is due to release "in just a few years", according to a report by the New York Times.

The paper claims to have spoken to DICE about the unannounced sequel in a recent interview, with Battlefield 4's executive producer Patrick Bach promising "More features. More extras. More destruction" for the next game. (Battlefield 4, Patrick Bach, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

How about they finish BF4 first?

This is the milking powerhouse known as EA we are talking about here and their minions DICE. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Edit: By just a "few" years, they really mean 2.

lol, DICE: "We gotta keep THESE things out of BF4 so we have stuff to put in BF5"
pwnsause_returns  +   368d ago
Well at least it's due in a few years instead of "every year" like that "other" game
MidnytRain  +   368d ago
I'm sure they are. The game's releasing over the next month.

wtf DICE? focus on BF4 first.

oh and another thing, after BF4 it better be BC3 not no damn BF5.
Lukas_Japonicus  +   368d ago
Gotta agree with you there, i would prefer another bad company, along with the trademark bad company heavy/clunky feel to the weapons.
titletownrelo  +   368d ago
nah man, I'd rather see a WWII remake or a full-out vietnam shooter, THEN BC3. We gotta take a break from this overused "modern shooter" era IMO.

Oh don't you worry, I'm pretty sure EA will have something for you next year. If the next Battlefield is due in the next few years (I would presume 2), EA will either delay Titanfall for the next holiday season, or have some lesser developer make some generic shooter; maybe it'll be a return to the series' roots for Medal of Honor.

By the end, we will see in Battlefield 10 a fully destructible world, just like it was in BF2.

EA*

Hell no. First focus and make dlc's for BF4 ATLEAST for 2-3 more years, then you can start thinking about BC3
MidnytRain  +   368d ago
Game development companies are ALWAYS working on something new. They don't just sit around doing nothing for years at a time.
Idba  +   367d ago
Well, they could use that time to make more dlc's/free maps and modes + they can also focus more on the Battlefront series. maybe when they're in mid-development of the dlc's, they can start thinking about BF5/BC3 without saying it outloud so it sounds like they just wanna milk the series
BobBelcher  +   368d ago
lol. Pretty soon, the Battlefield series will be an annual release...

To be honest I would love to see a WW2 shooter running on frostbite. Even if its just a small dlc
Einhert  +   368d ago
And the age of the arcade modern military shooter milking continues
sephiroth420  +   368d ago
good to know they have already have plans for the future games, more destruction is always good so long as the graphics/gameplay doesnt suffer because of it, a war of the monsters revamp by dice would be nice, even though they didnt make it lol
