Xbox One Adaptive A.I and Game DVR support restricted to selected games

As the new Xbox One release date draws near, Microsoft is getting aggressive in their marketing for Xbox One. People might have thought that since the Game DVR and Adaptive A.I feature is so prominently featured on the main ad, it might be included in every game. As it turns out, the support for both features depends on the games and its developers.

Truth will come out when the consoles come out. Can't wait to see all the PR rants come to an end. Might as well start coming clean.

i gotta gve it to M$ they know how market a product except surface which failed badly ..

let's hope that the xbone won't face the same fate

@black0o: Actually, it's Microsoft's marketing that has failed MULTIPLE times now. Fact is, marketing alone can't save you anymore. Your product must also speak for itself. You didn't need to see a Windows XP ad to know that it is a great operating system. The word of mouth was enough to make you want to move to a new OS. You didn't need to see an ad to know that Live was better than PSN. Because, simply put, Windows XP was great and so was XBL. Anyone who denies that is being a fanboy. Xbox Live was much better than PSN for the better of the current generation. Things have changed though but that's how this industry works. PSN Plus offers more than XBL and with PS4, it'll only get even better.

Their marketing department used to be ROCK SOLID but it's been very poor for a number of years.

Zune, Windows Vista, Surface, Windows 8 and now Xbox One. See the pattern? The only good thing that MS had was Windows 7 and Xbox 360. Both of which are old news now.

pedrof931518d ago

Actually they could use the adaptive A.I in Halo 5 for bots. Ohh LOL nevermind there ain't no bots in HALO because they want us to get LIVE.

Dante811518d ago (Edited 1518d ago )

Zune, it coulda been a contender.

nukeitall1518d ago (Edited 1518d ago )

This is just taken completely out of context and run with it by bad "journalism".

MS has to say "game dvr support is up to developer) for legal reasons, because the developer has the power to prevent recording to avoid spoilers. Because of that, the developer has the power to prevent recording to the entire game.

Therefore MS can't say all games support Game DVR, because that is not necessarily true in the future. Unlikely, but possible.

Sony is likely the same way.

By the way, I remember when people were posting Gears of War 3 spoilers here and that was [email protected] annoying!

I don't want Game DVR to ruin my gaming, I want it to be a fun addition.

“Adaptive AI and Game DVR available in supported games”.

No sh** Sherlock. So micro should force devs to use or allow them?

Uhm you do know for the dvr sony is the same way and the AI like any other feature set like smartglass is up to the developer. Gearnuke is full of crap trying hard for hits legal statements like this are included in every promotional and ad related content on a sites product page.

And of cousre the usual sonyvampires are here to latch on to common sense news with pointless anti-microsoft soap box rants.

so true...i never seen so much pr bs in the history of gaming...its just "ms exect says this" or "ms dev says that"..dam i've always said them guys at ms need to stfu. the x1 is a decent console its ms who is actually messin sh!t up for it. with the "deal with it" and the " we have sold as many x1 as ps4" is just killin it.
we as gamers are not stupid, they think we are, and thats why they are failing the x1. all gamers are loyal to games and (fanboys) are loyal to brands. but we are all smart as gamers...we research more than the average customer every thing from clock speeds to ram sizes so they can't throw big words at us. ms is trying to be sneaky at the moment and slide this under their loyal customers and thats not cool. imma get both but i may not get x1 till 2015, i figure by then the air will be clear....its just too foggy right now for me to see myself buying a x1, this..or next year.
.........11.15.13........ ill see yall on the battlefield .....good luck early ms adoptors. game on

THIS!

That's exactly what I feel with the whole MS bs word by word!

+1

I recommend people read you comment from start to finish. It pretty much sums up everything 360 owners who've switched is feeling. They're lumping the early adopters in with the casual crowd. We don't all own Iphones. We don't all game in Windows, thank you Mantel. Point is we're not all mindless sheep, so stop acting as if we are.

@Kingthrash360, Bubble up for Well Said

Foxhound9221518d ago

Yes but unfortunately most gamers don't read that much into gaming news. We are a dying breed, and considered a minority compared to the millions of casuals. Ms will do what they always do, market on every billboard, bag of chips, and tv commercials in the country and the people that don't know anything about video games will assume its the greatest thing ever invented. It's sad but true. This generation might be a little different because word of mouth is huge this time around. With the negative press on MS this time, it's going to be interesting how things play out. All I know is that quite a few of my most diehard Xbox friends are going with the PS4 this year, that's definitely not a good sign. My one friend is a halo and gears nut job. He has 3 xboxs(2 modded), master chief tattoo, and gears of war life sized weapons in his room. He loves MS and anything Xbox related. But when he heard about the forced kinect and restrictive policies he asked me where I got my PS4 preorder and got one for himself.

Mike134nl1518d ago

This news seems kinda redundant. It was pretty obvious developers would be able to choose if they want to use Microsoft azure services to implement adaptive AI, game DVR support or dedicated servers.

malokevi1518d ago

"As it turns out, the support for both features depends on the games and its developers"

Is this supposed to be news? Seems more like common sense.

I don't understand how anyone could think that MS would "force" adaptive AI.

mrpsychoticstalker1518d ago

Sony bots bro. They got nothing else to do

Nvm it just for first party games folks.

False advertising at it's best

Shnooze1518d ago

Kermit's picture fits your post like a glove.

no_more_heroes1518d ago

So its something that's up to the developers to enable as a feature.

Blackdeath_6631518d ago

TBH that seems fair i guess they put the option there and give the devs the choice to use it or not i hope sony would clarify on this too.
