Especially since many of the main character r Brits. Historians reckons about 60% of pirates were Brits, mixed with French Spanish and escaped slaves. One good thing about pirates, they were one of the few group of people who hated slavery at the time

The weather sucks over here so we all just sit at home drinking tea and playing Assassins Creed all day long (and a few other games too).

Do you guys watch Top Gear as much as we Americans? The country is slowly getting addicted to BBC America. Broadchurch is really growing a following over here. (Obviously, Dr. Who is big here, too.)

Soulscare1492d ago

Top Gear is huge here in the UK. It's not as popular as it once was but thanks to it's humour, it has a loyal following. Doctor Who gets more and more popular by the day... Everyone seems to agree that they're catering more to the US audience, but it's probably our biggest show. Torchwood was hugely popular too, but from season three onwards people hated it. (I still love it!)

WeAreLegion1492d ago

Sweet. Yeah, I can see why you would all think that about Doctor Who. I just wish I could enjoy the show as much as my friends. They're obsessed.

GarrusVakarian1492d ago (Edited 1492d ago )

I don't watch Top Gear nearly as much as i used to, its become too rehearsed and dare i say "fake".

ANIALATOR1361492d ago

Dave ruined Top Gear. Doctor Who I pretty much stopped watching when Matt Smith came in. Do Americans watch Eastenders?

That's no problem, just south of you guys are Spain and Portugal. Hop on over there for some sun.

ZHZ901492d ago

That's a great news for me, as a AC fan.

It's great having another large english-speaking(!) market outside of the US. Back in the day it was basically US and a large Japanese market.

Soulscare1492d ago

Video games have always been huge in the UK... Just look at how many developers we have! http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Dante811492d ago (Edited 1492d ago )

Not large enough to be often mentioned in video game mags. It was mostly US and Japan, US and Japan, etc. If you were that large you wouldn't have received crappy PAL 50 versions of great games like Terranigma. Now, it's a whole different ballgame

"UK console videogame software units are more than double what was achieved in 2003, which just shows how fast the UK market has been growing," said Dorian Bloch

WOW have you read our mags like OPM OXM ,PC GAMER Computer video games,gamesMaster...? I didnt think soo . Ive played many great games on consoles PC were rolling credits inc UK developer studios 2 big names off top my head GTA , GOD OF WAR 3. Get mentioned because there help.
Pal 50 was native yes as many tv in EU were not NTSC 60Hz now thats thing of the past.

ANIALATOR1361492d ago (Edited 1492d ago )

We have came up with the ideas for some of the biggest franchises in gaming. Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider to name some. Many studios abroad are often made up of many different people, some British. I agree we arent as relaxed about games as the US. Its still considered nerdy to like video games outside of COD and Fifa
