Garry’s Incident video by Total Biscuit removed because “dev dislikes critique”

A popular video by Total Biscuit, in which he gave his first impressions of Day One: Garry’s Incident is no longer available, due to the developers WildGameStudios flagging it for copyright issues.

The “WTF is… Day One: Garry’s Incident” video was highly critical of the game, citing numerous bugs, dull gameplay and ugly graphics. TotalBiscuit himself is arguing that the devs want to take it down due to the criticism, rather than legitimate concerns regarding copyright.

Nice to see a company finally standing up to honest and well deserved criticism :P. As for the other allegations to be honest I'm suprised there are so few reports about those kinds of actions from devs or publishers.

I'm sorry, who's side are you on? TB always makes these videos and highlights critisizms, pro's and cons etc. This is public info and awareness.

His/her comment was very clearly sarcasm/humor.

Thank you for understanding bad humor Lon3wolf :)

I'm sorry but I can't report anyone using a sick Rose avatar, it goes against my principles.

Perhaps they did want the video
Flagged because of the critique (it really appears that this is the case), but it's poor journalism to use a headline that presents an allegation as fact... I see that way too often around here.

The headline should read 'video removed; allegedly because 'dev dislikes critique''

KonsoruMasuta1708d ago (Edited 1708d ago )

Man, it looks like they also have people on N4G trying to direct criticism away from them.

First Metacritic, then YouTube, and now N4G?

mhunterjr1708d ago (Edited 1708d ago )

No, they certainly deserve the criticism, but it's not the role of the journalist to pass the judgement. They present the information as is, and let the readers come to the conclusion. They don't pick sides.

Yes the evidence looks bad for the dev, but it's not the role of the journalist to assume guilt.
