Not really, it doesn't.

Lalanana1403d ago

I wouldn't say rubbish..but it's not what they are putting it out to be..just my opinion.

Blackdeath_6631403d ago (Edited 1403d ago )

@Lalanana
its not what YOU'RE putting it to be. people are being upset by their own expectations cerny said that it was a family game and that it would still be challenging for gamers who want to up the difficulty. it was overhyped because it's one of only three exclusive "AAA" launch titles (now only two after driveclub was delayed).

we all know from this gen that sony can deliver on exclusive so not so concerned especially when infamous second son is on the horizon. so does this mean that ps4 launch titles are weak? the answer is no and heres why...

Basement Crawl
Counterspy
Doki Doki Universe (Free-to-Play)
Escape Plan (Cross-Buy)
flOw (Cross-Buy)
Flower (Cross-Buy)
Killzone: Shadow Fall
Knack
Resogun (Free w/ Plus)
Sound Shapes (Cross-Buy)
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag
Battlefield 4
Blacklight: Retribution (Free-to-Play)
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Contrast (Free w/ Plus)
DC Universe Online (Free-to-Play)
DiveKick
FIFA 14
Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
Just Dance 2014
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
Madden NFL 25
Minecraft
N++
NBA 2K14
NBA Live 14
Need for Speed Rivals
Pinball Arcade
PlanetSide 2 (Free-to-Play)
Pool Nation Extreme
Skylanders Swap Force
Super Motherload
Tiny Brains
War Thunder: Ground Forces (Free-to-Play)
Warframe (Free-to-Play)

there is a strong list of Free-to-play games that won't even require PS+ for those who havent bought any games with their console also multiplatforms are bigger and looking better than ever going into next gen + all those indie games you won't run out of things to play anytime soon it will be 2014 before you even notice

Salooh1403d ago

It's funny how fanboys saying ps4 don't have exclusives when sony is kicking ass because of them in ps3.

Killzone shadowfall
Planet side 2
Multiplatforms
Indies

Will make me busy until Drive club and Second son release. There are many launch games this time not like before. So i can wait for the awesome exclusives :P .

Lboogieskells1403d ago (Edited 1403d ago )

Have you played Knack yet? I was hopeful, but what you see is what you get. The game isn't as charming as I hoped.

Although I only got to play 10 minutes or so, my verdict is the gameplay lacks depth and won't appeal to hardcore gamers.

But I digress, it's possible there's some secret sauce or element left out of the demo that's not accounted for.

it not a AAA Mega killer shooter with graphics that nerds cum over every time they look at it. its a f'ing plattformer it looks as good as it can without going over to realism.

MasterCornholio1403d ago

Its like people forget about great platformers like Daxter, Jak and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot, Gex, Banjo Kazooie, Sly etc.

You know what I'm glad that Cerny is brave enough to produce a game in a near extinct genre.

Nexus 7 2013

Salooh1403d ago (Edited 1403d ago )

@Master
I wouldn't go and compare knack to crash or jack. Knack is more like a kids game . It's not a bad game but it's not aiming for what jack and crash aim especially when you see the simple gameplay of knack.

If they make the gameplay more complicated then it's alright to compare .

I'm not disagreeing but that's how i see knack. I'm not buying it for that reason.

Destrania1403d ago (Edited 1403d ago )

I agree that Knack doesn't seem to quite fit in the same category as Crash and Jak, but, I still think it looks interesting and will probably be relatively fun for a lot of different people. I won't buy it right at launch like some other games, but I'm sure I'll pick it up a little ways down the road.

Campy da Camper1403d ago

Agreed. I love me some AAA like splinter cell, metal gear and elder scrolls but I was also up all night playing trine 2 directors cut on my wiiu.

Good game is a good game.

husomc1403d ago

these days ppl want master chief jumping on bunny rabbits and collecting rings

combatcash1403d ago

It looks like a lousy version of ratchet and clank. It may end up being a good game based fm this vid, I'm not impressed.

meatysausage1403d ago

I think knack looks fantastic, whats with all the hate

ForgivenZombie1403d ago

People have forgotten that games can be fun and simple at the same time. I really like the art style of the game.

madpuppy1403d ago

I preordered knack and well as KZ: shadowfall, and am looking forward to playing both of them. I happen to like many genres, and I like platformers, I am glad someone is still making them besides "just Nintendo"
or I wouldn't have the opportunity to play a good platformer. (nintendo bores me)

talhat21403d ago

@Craig
You cant judge a game by someone else playing it. you have to play it for yourself...

CRAIG6671403d ago

Everybody judges games in that regard to some extent man. My judgement is that it looks lacklustre, been there, done that. Hopefully it proves me wrong but either way I won't be picking it up for £50, I'll get it 2nd way down the line if it intrigues me.
There is nothing about it that says next-gen to me.
I would probably have felt better about it if Cerney hadn't been stuffing it down everyone's throats as his big launch title. I want AAA KZSF graphics to be at the forefront of the nextgen push... Obviously this is just my opinion and many others see things very differently, that's all cool. But for me,this is about as far from system seller as you get.

kenshiro1001403d ago

CRAIG667: You judge this based on a video? A video?!

Way to jump to conclusions.

MysticStrummer1403d ago

@Craig - "My judgement is that it looks lacklustre, been there, done that."

You must not buy many games then, because the vast majority fall into the Been There Done That category, especially shooters, which is the most popular genre. It's rare that anything truly unique comes along, and when it does it doesn't sell nearly as well as games like CoD that offer the same experience every single time they release.

Knack looks like what it is, a family friendly action adventure/platformer.

PsylentKiller1403d ago

@CRAIG667

KZSF looks great but I think the real system seller is going to be The Order 1886 just like Ryse will be for the XB1. Hopefully they drop relatively soon. Knack's gameplay reminds me of Spyro's very simplistic gameplay. It's great for the younger gamers and for a family game like Cerny said but I don't think it's worth the $60 price tag. I predict this will be one of those games that gets a price drop rather quickly or it will quickly go on sale for PS+ members.

LordDhampire1402d ago

Ehhh I was originally like you but if think about it, its more like games like crash bandicoot and rachet and clank. All the original games what made playstation...playstation, games what are fun no matter what age you are not just for adults.

But Ill probably check it out, I do hate rachet and clank and jak and daxter just for your info

snipab8t1402d ago

Agreed, don't really understand the hype. If this was on xbone all the n4sonys would be saying how crap it is.

Ps4Console1402d ago

To you maybe but I'am getting this game oh yeah Knack looks a very good exclusive .

snipab8t1402d ago

Why do the enemies disappear when they die, that is so last gen.

sephiroth4201402d ago

not rubbish, but it doesant adhere to my taste.

Yetter1400d ago

I wouldn't say rubbish. Mediocre would be how I'd describe it

lifeisgamesok1403d ago

Good to see people can get a hands-on with the console but where's Killzone?

Abriael1403d ago

It's not part of the demos in the kiosks.

lifeisgamesok1403d ago

Well I know that but isn't that the game Sony wants to show off

Abriael1403d ago

@lifeisgamesok: apparently not. Which is funny, because the single player demo was perfectly playable (and actually lovely) at TGS.

Mega241403d ago (Edited 1403d ago )

they can't show M rated games as part of demos, an employee had to explain it to them right there, it's due to kids being around the game, if we only had a system that it would kick kids from M-rated games, it would be lovely.

Abriael1403d ago

@Mega24: good call, I totally forgot about that part :D

DigitalRaptor1403d ago

You can see/hear kids in the background.

I'm sure Sony don't think it appropriate to have mature-rated shooters being played on kiosks that are right next to family-friendly games, in stores where kids are going to be with their parents.
