Who cares. Nvidia talks to much. Seriously things can be more powerful but it's up to the talent that uses that power to create something truly amazing.

codelyoko1554d ago

Agreed, but just the fact it is capable of the feat is amazing. When i say Battlefield 3 running on the old Logan chip i was like o.o.

Here is my opinion on these mobile chips. I DON'T care. I mean, I don't know about you guys but I could never ever play hardcore games on tablets.

I got Sonic Episode I and II on my tablet for my son and I could barely play that and all you gotta do is jump and dash. Go forward or back and that's it but to me, that just didn't work.

So, for all I care, tablets could go and produce next-next-next gen graphics but as long as I am using a touch interface, I am simply not going to enjoy it. Add a few physical buttons and that just changes things. Oh wait! We already have a powerful console for that and that's called a PS VITA!

It's one thing to play a casual tower defense game but it is totally another playing Battlefield, Killzone or Uncharted on a touch only device.

Until a year ago, I wanted to get a new phone every year 'cuz hey, the newest model had more pixels, had a better processor, more ram but all that's behind me. I realized that there is nothing that warrants for ME to upgrade my phone every year. My original Galaxy S phone used to lag like anything so yeah, upgrading to GS3 made more sense but now, I think mobile phones and tablets are at a point of saturation.

I don't like to talk on behalf of other people but my guess is that at least 90% of the smart devices owners do not use these devices to their maximum potential. Sooner or later, other people are also going to realize this and this whole mobile chips mumbo jumbo fill fade away -- if it hasn't started already

@zeee...there is such a thing as a joypad.

An MHL adapter allows any android device with Micro USB to output 1080p via HDMI and it also charges the tablet or phone when attached to the TV.

There are a lot of controller options for android too.

fyi, I already play games using my galaxy note 3 at 1080p on my tv using a gamepad and they look better than games like octodad, oddworld and bastion.

To name a few just off the top of my head:

dragon slayer

Enemy Strike

Contract Killer 2

Shadowgun Dead Zone

Death Dome

Does it really matter? I mean who games on a mobile device...I mean we see the shear amount of AAA console like experiences coming to Shield, right?

Campy da Camper1553d ago

@zee...I completely agree. Can you imagine playing Skyrim on a tablet?

I guess they sent Tegra 4 out to die. Well it doesn't really matter since most OEMs have opt for Snapdragon 600&800 instead of Tegra 4

Even if Tegra 5 & 6 are able to pull of some graphical feats it really won't matter much far as mobile goes. Most popular mobile games like Candy Crush, Angry Birds and Temple Run doesn't have high requirements. Sure they might benefit high-end mobile games but lets be honest they aren't alot of those type games available. The are more low-end games available than high-end. Not to mention the most popular games are the low-end ones. Then there the matter of battery life.

If Tegra 6 is really coming in 2014 then they are also sending Tegra 5 out to die. Not only that but it makes me think they're rushing.

codelyoko1554d ago

+1 :P They are basically trying to get ahead of the curve with Tegra 6.

LOL... it would be funny if we could get in 3-4 years from now a smartphone more powerful then the PS4/X1.

Don't even try that dude. People that see your comments know better.

look at all my disagrees, ps4 hype is so low

Codey471554d ago (Edited 1554d ago )

The problem with Nvidia is themselves...They should support their latest chipsets instead of releasing new ones so shortly after their previous iteration.

Same happened with Tegra 2 and 4 and 5.

Pull yourselves together and get a goddamn grip you silly Nvidiots!!!!

im pretty sure this logan cant survive a big magnet..

LAWSON721554d ago

I wonder how many devices have the Tegra 2,3,and 4. I actually had the early tegra 2 in my X2 and it was terrible, lol.

zeal0us1554d ago

Tegra 2-Over 40 device not include chinese kirfs or offbrand products

Tegra 3-Over 30 devices

Tegra- Over 15 devices

Tegra 2 in my Droid X2 perform alright. Though there have been times it would restart while I'm browsing buts probably due to the custom rom I install.

LAWSON721554d ago

Good info, though that reboot on your X2 was a common issue on stock for me, and the only rom I did not have the issue on was CM7. Have you ever tryed to run CM10 or 9 on that thing it reboots like crazy, lol. It is not the CPU just that 512MB of RAM. So glad I have an S4 now.

zeal0us1554d ago (Edited 1554d ago )

I thought about putting CM up there but I went Eclipse Rom instead. I'm on a Verizon family account and my cousin used all the free upgrades, so I can't upgrade for another year :(.
