Carmack: Nvidia G-Sync not compatible with Oculus Rift

In a recent tweet, co-founder of id software John Carmack said that Nvidia's newly announced G-Sync technology won't be supported on any of the display panels that Oculus is currently considering for its VR tech. This whole 3D and virtual reality thing just doesn't cater to many people at all. 3D tv's have more or less already died off. This thing will probably not take off any time soon. Clunky technology just doesn't lure anyone in.

Good thing it isn't clunky and is completly different from 3D TVs then huh?

Isn't clunky. You do realize you have to wear an eye goggles that are twice the size of normal 3D glasses correct? If that isn't clunky I don't know what is.

3D has always been a Niche product that pops up every ten years.

I got 3 3D monitors and I BARELY play in 3D. It's cool for like 15 minutes then it becomes Meh.

Oculus Rift is the Virtual Reality gimmick that pops up every 10 years BUT this time I think they are getting closer to something viable.

One day Holographic Technology will encompass 3D and Virtual Reality into a MEANINGFUL use that would require NO Glasses or CLunky headsets and it will take off in Gaming and a whole lot of other things.
