Watch Dogs producer: sci-fi surveillance tech of the game “exists in the present”

One of the games I’ve been most looking forward to this year (and now next year) is Watch Dogs, both for its non-GTA open world environment and its ludicrous display of hacking and Big Brother omnipresence. An all-seeing security grid is a great sci-fi premise, but according to a new feature at Polygon, Chicago’s real-world surveillance technology is just about as pervasive as the fictional version in Watch Dogs. (PC, PS3, PS4, Watch Dogs, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Isn't news to me, its blatantly obvious that we have big brother style surveillance happening in today's world.

George Orwell says hi.

Yeah I remember seeing a story at least ten years ago where they used a geostationary satellite to zoom in on the reporter as he sat on a bench in New York's Central Park. They could zoom in enough to see the title of the magazine he had in his hands. Imagine what can be done now.

This shouldn't come as a surprise. ..

And gamers are still just worried about Kinect.

Watch Dogs producer: sci-fi surveillance tech of the game “exists for about 15 year now” ah that is more like it.
