GTA 5 update 1.04 begins roll-out on Xbox 360, no sign of free GTA Online money yet

"Grand Theft Auto 5's 1.04 update is beginning to appear on Xbox Live, as spotted by community members over at Rockstar News Wire. OXM can confirm that the update is live in the UK, but in keeping with prior patches, it may take a while to become available in your region." (Grand Theft Auto Online, Grand Theft Auto V, PS3, Xbox 360)

There still seem to be people complaining about bugs - on the News Wire thread, somebody says they've actually lost money. Oopsy daisy, Rockstar.

The game has been very stable now. I haven't encountered any problems whatsoever. I played till 4am today...I am a zombie at work p_p

Re: mission payouts- I actually thought it was the opposite. My mates and I thought the payouts had gotten more generous. I got $25k for a mission yesterday which seemed quite generous (although we had a nightmare doing it).

There's talk that they've cut down the mission payouts. Have you noticed anything like that?

EDIT - Thanks for the heads-up.

I think Madrazzo Check Out Time gave me 5k today instead of normal 10k(pre-1.04).

The missions have absolutely been nerfed - I played 6 high level missions after last night's update and each of them only paid half of what they paid out previously.

Played base invaders with a friend today and only got paid 12.5K instead of the usual 25K. I'm glad that I like racing in this game, Level 62 and get paid 13K if I come first in most races. If they nerf races I'm off this MP game for good.

Just updated on PS3 (UK) and everything is fine. Any have the patch notes detailing what the update was for?

I don't seem to have any free $ though......

Patch notes aren't live yet. They've said they'll only release the money when they're sure the progress deletion problem has been fixed.

Oh ok, thanks for the heads up.

Is this out on the PSN yet?
dirigiblebill  +   725d ago
I think so, yes.
Lukas_Japonicus  +   725d ago
Yes, it is. In the UK anyway....

Apparently they've fixed the LSC glitch and have nerfed some of the mission rewards.

R* working hard to make sure you buy those micro transactions
mhunterjr  +   725d ago
I wish folks would get off of the micro transaction hate. This is essentially an MMO. When they release DLC, everyone will have to have access to it, so a paid dlc model is out of the question if they want to maintain a functional freemode. I'd rather have a minority of people financing the release of new content and server maintenance than to have everyone to pay a subscription free. And as long as upgrades are locked by RP, the game won't become unbalanced.
Superted2007  +   725d ago
I don't necessarily have a problem with their method of micro-transactions, their not for me but I won't complain that they are a nice option for player who want to use them.

Having said that, lets no kid ourselves, GTA Online is not a free-to-play MMO that supports itself on these transactions. It in included as part of your $60 purchase of GTA V and the cost of running and supporting the system comes from that $60 bucks. Anything extra R* get is just gravy.
Fireseed  +   725d ago
No, I will continue to hate it because this is a game where money buys you power. Plain and simple. If you don't have money you cant buy guns, fast cars, body armor, etc. In a game like LoL you can ONLY buy cosmetic stuff, but in GTA it's the lifeblood for EVERYTHING!
mhunterjr  +   725d ago
@Superted2007. Surely you understand that there is a thing called 'overhead' . Your sixty dollar purchase is not going to sustain an online game of this scale for any significant amount of time. That's why most retail games have the servers cut off after a couple of years. I'm not sure why folks believe that this model should only apply to f2p games, especially when f2p games end up costing more for more people overtime or becoming ridiculous grind fests. Not to mention The value of GTAV's single player is worth the $60 alone.

Not all games are created equal. This isn't call of duty, where they'll release another $60 game in a year. They'll have to continuously support this until the next installment, which is (knowing rockstar) another 5 years away. Ideological pricinples really shouldn't be a part of the discussion.

@Fireseed, I suggest you play the game. Money is really not hard to come by. And 'power' is unlocked by ranking up. Even if someone has all the money in the world, they can't buy the powerful items without going through the same Events as everyone else.

they need to nerf some of the cash you get from races. it's all everyone wants to dol I swear GTAonline these days is like playing Forza. no one does the other missions because they dont payout like the races do
mhunterjr  +   725d ago
I agree, they need to up the payouts in the competitive multiplayer missions. Why would anyone play Deathmatch and risk getting nothing when they can race for a few minutes and get a huge payout even if they don't win.
ksamj  +   724d ago
I donno if they patch to FIX or to make it WORSE

I can't even go in a live session anymore ... in the last few days the game was super stable for me now it is like i am stuck in SOLO Session ONLY

and the mission payouts in HALF ????? this is must be a big joke

i don't want NEED FOR SPEED to Rank and make money
