MWEB GameZone writer, Nicholas Holden, takes a walk down the Call of Duty memory lane. It's almost time for the franchise' 10th anniversary, and with that we celebrate a decade of superb military shooters
Its been a very successful franchise that I have really enjoyed. The multiplayer has been fun and engaging - COD4 was awesome. The single player stories have been great, some not so great, but I will always have really good memories of the first WW2 Call of Duty where some of the parts were mirrored on the Enemy at the Gates movie. Was really really great fun.
For me it has been great to have experienced the CoD franchise over the years. I truly enjoyed COD4MW like so many others did, so when Black Ops, World at War, MW3, and Black Ops 2 were released I always had a great deal of expectation which delivered some moments of "Amaze-Balls" but never quite piqued like COD4MW did. From the recent trailers, in game actions on youtube etc, I can see that some great changes are coming, and I once again find myself overly excited. I hope that this game will be my TRUE sequel to COD4.
CoD4 was a superb shooter, it really was. delivered on story, gameplay, excellent multiplayer, but the sequels always felt not as awesome as CoD4. Hopefully, Ghosts will fix that empty feeling
COD delivers gripping SP campaigns and also really great online and eSports titles
