10 Franchise-Killing Games That Were So Bad They Ended Entire Series

Complex - "Change is hard, especially when it comes to the games we love. There's nothing quite like a good sequel; one that expands on and improves the gameplay of the original, adding new mechanics and juicing up the graphics, while maintaining what made the game before it so compelling."

The story is too old to be commented.

Why is FF13 on that list?

It's funny what it says about contra Legacy of War:

"New-fangled 3D graphics may have been all the rage back then, but even in 1996 no one thought this game was good. And as if that wasn't enough Appaloosa's sequel, C: The Contra Adventure, was even worse. Now Contra will almost certainly never return to its former glory"

And yet Shattered Soldier, contra 4, Contra Rebirth (great throwback game on wiiware) and even Uprising are all much MUCH better since the days of Legacy.

"Haze is not itself part of a franchise (thank goodness), but it's definitely a franchise killer. And unfortunately the franchise it killed was the beloved TimeSplitters." - Quoted from article.

Why is Final Fantasy XIII on there? It has 2 sequals and XIV and XV are coming.
