Why do we rush to complete video games?

The hype machine is now so refined at building buzz that as soon as we get our hands on a game we feel motivated to complete it, consume it, and know it inside and out. And because of the ever-increasing buzz for the next big release, a game has to be put to bed as soon as possible. It took Rockstar 5 years to make Grand Theft Auto V. And 48 hours for some people to complete. Why do we rush though video games so quickly?

I don't. I like to take my time and i force myself to stop playing every now and again so that i have something to look forward to instead of just blasting through it.

You don't rush games. You enjoy them for long periods of time over fewest sessions
