Did Rockstar Hold GTAO Back For The Sake Of GTAV Reviews?

Exactly why did the multiplayer segment come out two weeks after the single-player adventure? Lack of time? Or was it a calculated move on Rockstar's part? (Grand Theft Auto Online, Grand Theft Auto V, PS3, Xbox 360)

Possible. I doubt they did though. Reviewers were going to give the game high scores regardless of the online. For a game like GTA being such a highly anticipated game they would have excused the online saying the game is still great even without it.

I agree. The online (despite its sloppy start) is a massive bonus to a solid single player game. Most games these days with such a large online component usually have a 4hr campaign.

I say yes. Then again, based on the current state of things, they didn't hold it back far enough.

It's an obvious yes. There wasn't enough time between release, and then online to say they did anything worthwhile to it. If they released online a few months down the road or maybe even next year, then I'd say otherwise.

There are plenty of games that get amazing reviews then get knocked down because of online features, even though the online was clearly just tacked on.

No I think it was held back because of server load. Just too many people online at once and they had to iron out all the bugs.

Yes, definitely.

Maybe. Right now i see reviews of GTA being 10/10 on most sites, this is just biased in my opinion. It can't be given a 10/10 if the online is a such a piece of crap, it should be a 7 or an 8 out of 10.

And if people say that the online mode is a seperate part of the game then they should just shup up because that is a load of crap.
