OXM UK - "Concerned about Eidos Montreal's Thief reboot? I'll admit to having a few reservations, as detailed in our latest preview, but that could be no more than a show of my own ignorance."
No no you wont, its been casualized and dumbed down. Thief is dead. No Hammerites, no Pagans, no supernatural at all. We've got a political story now. Enjoy slow mo headshots for maximum XP
Completely agree, but many ignorant people seem to love this new game.
After hearing about development woes, I'm not so sure about Thief. http://www.polygon.com/2013... I hope this game succeed. I honestly don't want to see SE give this game the same treatment EA gave MH.
I don't know, it could go either way. Dishonored was fantastic and flat out stealing its ideas isn't a bad thing, but some of the other things mentioned are worrisome. No jump button really scares me, I've played all the assassins creed games and while its decent for those I'd much prefer a normal jump for most games. Being made by the same studio as DX:HR gives me some hope as that did turn out better than expected and I think they've learned even more about adding rpg elements, thus the directors cut. I think it has a chance, but they need to show more. edit* @zeal0us wow I hadn't read that before. That certainly is cause for concern.
Whilst it is the same studio that made my favorite game this gen. The art director/director/main creative team is not the same. (I'm sure some of the programmers are the same). The same studio also made the tomb raider multiplayer. With that said though. The trailers look interesting. But, before DXHR release there were articles like this. But, that doesn't mean this will turn out great either. Hoping for the best.
thief was out many years before dishonoured
Well aware. I bought deadly shadows when it came out. In the writers last 'hands on' preview article (which he links to in this one), he states that the inventory and short-range dash are directly taken from dishonored. That's what I meant by that.
People working on Thief back in the day, is some of the same people working on Dishonored. That's probably why it has similarities as well. I'm not falling for their attempt with this ''Thief'' game though, so we'll see what happens at release.
i am not interested in any upcoming reveals .this is simply day 1 for me
You're gonna be disappointed son.
although i respect ur opinion .i'm not to keen u called me son .mainly because i'm 34 years old so i'm more than lightly old enough to be your father
Give me this game, I want it
