TGH Writes: "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was really quite the surprise hit for Konami. 3D Castlevania titles haven’t really had the same allure as their classic, and revamped, 2D counterparts. They usually play clumsily and can’t quite recreate the intricate majesty that the NES and SNES-era games managed to do so well, even if they could maintain that crushing difficulty the series is known for. However, when Lords of Shadow released, it proved the series could work in 3D. It proved that MercurySteam had the tenacity and skill to create something that lived up to the dream many envisioned, and it certainly showed that Castlevania wasn’t dead. With Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, MercurySteam has shown that it can do this all again, and this time there’s no need to involve Kojima Productions to create a sure-fire hit."
