Cyberpunk Action RPG : Reborn Hits Kickstarter

Last week, We were brought our first look at Reborn from the Tokyo Game Show, along with an enormous gallery of amazing concept art. The rain slick, neon lit cyberpunk re-telling of the legendary samurai Musashi is something I want deeply, especially since Prey 2 was canned and Cyberpunk 2077 is ages away.

Its Kickstarter is up with a $200,000 goal. Also heavily detailed are possible stretch goals with all sorts of enticing possibilities, like PC and Xbox One releases, a semi-open world, and co-op. As it stands, the action game is aiming for a late 2014 release on PS3 and PS4. Indie developer Elemental Labs is already a registered Sony developer.

There isn't much to see yet, aside from the lovely concept art. Though something about Musashi's face is bugging me. I can't tell if he just looks very Anglo or simply too young and weirdly smoothed out. The concept art for Tsukihime is also sort of ridiculous.

Saw the KickStarter page and I've gotta say that I'm interested. The thing that interests me the most is the 4 gameplay styles (as well as the art style). Combat, stealth, augmentation and social perception... sounds cool. But it'll be hard to make a full balance between them. I hope it gets a physical release, but that's a stretch goal for about 1 million. It's also gonna be on the XBO and PC if it reaches certain stretch goals, which I really expected for the PC especially. It's a KickStarter game. They said they're going to be showing gameplay in the coming weeks, so I'll be tuning in to see if I'll back it. Fall 2014 is gonna be good. Definitely gonna have a PS4 by the time this comes out. The OST sounds cool too.

This game looks really good in terms of concept.

Good story theme, art style.

Cyberpunk + Next gen = yes please
