The last image shows some possible co-op! This game is going to be awesome. ;)

the series been co-op since first country game

deafdani1720d ago

I wouldn't exactly call "coop" a game that forces you to play in turns. If I remember correctly, that was how the SNES DKC games were. Simultaneous coop was introduced in Returns (Wii).

For that matter, both Mario Bros 1 and Mario Bros 3 had "coop", because players could take turns as Mario and Luigi. But come on... it's not the same, is it? :P

Misaka_x_Touma1720d ago (Edited 1720d ago )

no it was not in turns. You are thinking of Mario Bros. 1-3 and World. Donkey Kong and Kirby had co-op.

deafdani1720d ago

Really? I distinctly remembered it being in turns. Wait, look at this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

"The game offers single-player and multiplayer game modes. Multiplayer allows two players to play alternatively in one of two different modes: the competitive "Contest" mode or the cooperative "Team" mode. In Contest mode, each player controls a different set of Kongs and take turns playing each level as quickly as possible; the objective is to complete the most levels in the fastest time. In Team mode, each player takes the role of one of the two Kongs and play as a tag team: the active player's Kong will control the progression of the two players while the other player is dormant; the other player takes control if the active player loses his Kong from damage or if the active decides to switch out."

Yup, it was definitely in turns. You're the one remembering it incorrectly. It wasn't simultaneous. As for Kirby, I don't know about these at all.

Misaka_x_Touma1720d ago

that multiplayer not single player. Single Player has co-op.

Have been very critical of Wii U and it's software but this game here does look amazing. Glad they delayed it. Hopefully they polish it best they can and maybe add an online co-op or battle mode.

DKCR on wii was an absolute miracle and one of the finest 2D platform games I've ever played, cannot wait for DCKTF, it's going to be even better

maniacmayhem1720d ago

This game looks fantastic. Love 2D side scrollers games, great to see Nintendo keeping it old school while breathing new life into the genre.

Metroid in the same style Nintendo?

iplay1up21720d ago

Sorry, I had to disagree with you. I want an open world Metroid. I do agree with the rest of what you said though. This game looks great. I know this game will be amazing. I just wonder how it is going to stack up next to Rayman which has pretty much taken the cake as far as side scrollers go. Can Nintendo top it?

maniacmayhem1719d ago

An open world Metroid could be awesome if done right by the right people. I just don't want another Prime. I personally think Metroid was best when it was in it's 2D gameplay design.

But if a dev or Nintendo could pull off an excellent Castlvania:LoS style of Metroid then I wouldn't complain.

Rayman is absolutely beautiful and it did raise the bar of 2D side scrollers. I like to think of Donkey Kong as it's own beast though and not compare the two.
