EG Expo 2013: Ryse: Son of Rome hands-on impressions - Save/Continue

Save/Continue writes:

"It seems that the strongest hand that Xbox One launch title Ryse: Son of Rome can play, is that its a next-generation visual showcase for Microsoft‘s new console that aims to provide an historical slant of sorts to the spectacle fighter genre.

Far away from the arranged spectacle of the game’s campaign, the co-op based arena mode that I got stuck into at this year’s Expo was a modest, if unspectacular slice of what folks should expect when the game rolls around next month." (Ryse: Son of Rome, Xbox One)

Kinect is, at it's base, such a fascinating piece of technology. But why can't they seem to make any interesting games with it?

I'm actually excited for this one (one of the few, I know) so hopefully the campaign impresses more than an arena mode I won't play.

Yeah, like you I'm far more pumped about the campaign.

Microsoft should be pushing Dead Rising 3 more than this.

Almost a month away from launch and still seems unfinished. I may go with DR3 as my 2nd game (Forza 5 seems like a no-brainer).

Hopefully going to stick up the Dead Rising 3 hands-on tomorrow.

Rivaled Titanfall as my Game of the Show if I'm honest.

Killer Instinct is on the radar. Would really like to buy two arcade sticks, but hell of an investment. You'd really have to love fighting games and I tire of them quick. Never wast good at them and yet, KI looks good. Don't know if nostalgia creeps in reminding me if a time of crowded arcades or snes/64 edition .
