The Top 10 Most Anticipated New Next-Gen IPs

JT Ripton of TheKoalition writes:
There are a lot anticipated games for the next generation of consoles. You know them all and you can’t wait to get your sweaty hands on them -- they’re the next Halo, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Uncharted, Gears of War, Forza, Gran Turismo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Killzone… You get the point. But what are the top 10 most anticipated brand new IPs of the next generation? Note: A majority of the games on this list won't be coming to the Wii U. (Destiny, Knack, Next-Gen, PC, PS3, PS4, Quantum Break, Ryse: Son of Rome, The Last Guardian, TitanFall, Watch Dogs, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Killzone Shadowfall
Infamous Second Son
The Division

I definitely agree that The Division should be on the list as well seeing as how that game was hyped up at E3.

The order of their list is terrible, as is the exclusion of The Division.

1. Destiny
2. The Division
3. The Order
4. Titanfall <--Also on 360, yet ignored in the article
5. Deep Down
6. DriveClub
7. The Crew
8. Watch Dogs (probably should be higher up)
9. The Last Guardian (not yet confirmed for next-gen)
10. Knack/Ryse: Son of Rome

only thing known about next Halo, is that it will be named Halo 5 and even that isnt 100% fact.
Douchebag696  +   324d ago
For me it's Destiny and Elder Scrolls Online. But, I'm pretty excited about Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4 too. Let's just say that these next gen games are going to make for an interesting year.

I dont expect too much of Elder Scrolls Online. I love Elder Scrolls, but I just dont see, how a Online Version could work like a real Elder Scrolls. To play online in such a big world with other players, sound like it will be a WoW gameplay wise, in the Elder Scrolls Universe. I dont see, how they make you sneak around and steal stuff from everywhere you want to. I dont see, how they can give you the same freedom, aus in the offline versions from Elder Scrolls, but I am up for a surprise, but I really dont know how they want to manage that, without destroying, what made Elder Scrolls to what Elder Scrolls is nowadays.
UnholyLight  +   324d ago
I wish it was just like standard Elder Scrolls. Like how GTA Online is GTA with an Online component.

None of this BS WoW style "raid and pvp" stuff. Leave that terminology and style of gameplay there.

I'm not understanding all of the excitement for Titanfall. Is it just because old members of Infinity Ward are working on it? I guess I just wasn't that impressed with it.
Douchebag696  +   324d ago
Many of my friends are convinced it will come to the PS4 but I'm not convinced. However, it looks like fun. Not your typical FPS in my book. Maybe the appeal stems from my boredom with COD. Whatever the case may be I felt it looked fresh and interesting.

I was the same when I first seen it but after seeing a few more videos and talking to some guys that have had hands on time with it I'll at least give it a look. The people I've talked to said its amazing.
Douchebag696  +   324d ago
The concept just seems cool. I will be watching it closely.
Chrischi1988  +   324d ago
Yeah exactly...

can anyone remeber the hype about Flagshipstudios "HELLGATE LONDON"? It was only hyped, because old Blizzard employees who worked on Diablo2 were creating that game...

It looked like tons of fun when I first saw it but it has since lost its luster. Just not that excited anymore. The fast-paced gameplay made it stand out from the crowds originally, its wall-running and jetpack boosted jumping along with mechs that didn't move slow. Then I saw a deeper look at Infamous Second Son and its fast-paced open-world gameplay blew it out the water, not to mention the obvious graphical advantage it has in comparison to Titanfall. Traversing the environment, during combat, in a fast and fun way is why I'm comparing the two. They both had me excited for similar reasons but Infamous took the cake with its last video.
If Titanfall does come to PS4 eventually I'm not sure I'll even want it by then but it does still look like fun for those 360/X1/PC owners.

Destiny is the most anticipated for me. In Bungie we trust. BTW, Titanfall is shit, doesn't deserve to be on this list.
Ac7iVe  +   324d ago
X for the Wii U should be on that list
The_Villager  +   324d ago
Knack? Are they serious?

Child of light should be there too!

The Division is going to be so epic on PC. I have a sneaking suspicion that the game is going to be short-changed on consoles, with all next-gen titles being created on PC first. Super pumped for that game..
