Assassin’s Creed 4: Can Ubisoft turn this sinking ship around?

Assassin’s Creed 3 sold like hotcakes but left a bad taste in fans’ mouths; can the adventures of Edward Kenway restore faith in the series, or has Ubisoft lost control of its premiere franchise? (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

I appreciate the work, but don't say AC3 put a bad taste in my mouth when I enjoyed the game and came away looking forward to Black Flag.

Seriously. I'd say that (outside of the core audience) a majority of gamers enjoyed it. So much work goes into these games that it's hard not to appreciate/enjoy them in some capacity. +1

I would not argue with the quality of the franchise..but instead I would ask how much more blood can ubi draw from the franchise? I more than likley not but it at launch because I can guarantee that one month after release we will see a 10-20 usd discount at retail like its predecessors.

I love and own all the AC games... I dont think 3 deserves the hate its getting.. while it might be the worst of the series, I still wouldn't call it a "bad" game...

The ships not exactly sinking. While many core gamers may want a fresh take on the series it's still selling very well (just like CoD). Although there are similarities to ACIII I feel they've done a good job making this the best AC to date (sans actually playing it).

Day one!

I lost my interest in the series during Revelations (didn't even finish it) when I understood that they would never finish the story, and I don't plan on going back ever.

Loved all of them except 3.... Can't believe I didn't even finish it. Just lost interest.

AC4 looks pretty promising. However, as far as the trailers show, the series is still plagued with broken AI and fighting mechanics. Absence of naval warfare from multiplayer is a BIG disappointment. They really had a great chance with that to bring something new to otherwise same-old AC-MP.

I could care less about multiplayer!

Apparently 13.5 million sales is the writer's idea of a sinking ship. -_-

well said and thats just AC3 lol

I loved AC3!!!! I still play it to this day! I will also love AC4 day one buy on the PS4 for me!!

this is one of my favorite series of all time! I just really hope it doesnt get tied down by the naval combat. I can see it quickly becoming a staple of the franchise, which in turn will lower the amount of settings they can have them.

i worry about this too. i'm happy there doing it but at the same time i worry the'll get stuck in navel combat for all there AC games. I still want some classic AC as well in the future.
