Watch Dogs is a beautiful game on Wii U - Ubisoft

Ubisoft Montreal creative director Jonathan Morin has said that Watch Dogs is a beautiful game to play on Wii U. Morin stated that the game looks better on Wii U than on Xbox 360 or PS3, although it's not on a par with the next generation versions. (Jonathan Morin, Watch Dogs, Wii U)

You know maybe they should show some screens or even gameplay of it, instead of just talking about it

Ubisoft's comments are easy to doubt given the negligible differences among the Wii U versions of AC3, Raymen Legends and (more recently) Blacklist and the PS360 versions.

I'm excited for this version. I hope UbiSoft has done some really cool things with the game pad. Things like hacking and using the controller for viewing into peoples homes to see what there up to.

This is one of three games I am getting for the Wii U in November.

No, they haven't unfortunately. In the interview he says that the pad is only used to play the game off screen. It doesn't add any extra game play elements.

Well that sucks. Oh well at least there's the App.

Playing any game off screen is a pretty wild ability in my opinion. I think it's a great feature that I use often but I wish Ubisoft would go that extra mile and put some game play options on the game pad touch screen. I think that can make a video game more immersive and more fun!

yeah well, words dont mean much considering the way so many wii u ports/versions turn out on a regular basis. lets see some gameplay before making such claims.
HarryB  +   637d ago
This gta 4 modded. No console will look as good as the pc. Your absolutley right..

HarryB  +   637d ago
Wii u is like leapfrog. Surprised it doesn't use cartridges.
Mr Marvel  +   637d ago
At least the Leapfrog has it's own identity and place in the market.
The Wii U is sinking ship and only the extremely diehard Nintendo fans would argue otherwise.
HarryB  +   637d ago
I agree. Wii u fans are aged 16 and under. Its why they give us disagrees
Chrischi1988  +   637d ago
Yeah, noooo.

Whatever you say now, I wanna hear it in about 1 year from now. Other then 3rd party stuff, which is almost always better on PC, graphically for sure, but gameplay wise even more, what makes those consoles so special? All I see is hate towards Nintendo, for reasons, which never were a reason in the console market before, on PC yes, on consoles not. Wait until the hype after the release dies out. People act like it will give you a serotonin blast if you own a PS4, but actually you will still play the same games with better graphics, a still low installbase will also be a problem for PS4 at the beginning, even if you take the record pre orders into account. They will have to compete against the likes and installbases of PS3 and xbox360 and that wont help the PS4 much and then, there will be not really much games after release. The hype will die out, not saying the ps4 wont do good, but it wont be the little magic box everyone makes it out to be, you'll see ;)

Harry B I'm about to turn fifty and I own all of the Nintendo home video game consoles there are quite a few of us on Miiverse. You get disagrees because people disagree with you. Why the hell are you here raining on our parade? Don't you have anything better to do?
Mr Marvel, in my opinion the Wii U has already has some fantastic games with more system sellers on the way. If you know anything about video game history the cheapest and the least powerful home video game system ALWAYS wins it's respective generation! In other words Nintendo will win this generation!
We get it. You don't like Nintendo. You don't like the Wii U don't you have anything better to do than to come over here and write your ridiculous flame bait comments???? Obviously not! Really pathetic.

lol cmon harryb you can do better than that. Where is the talk of babies and soccer moms? Where is the atari comparison? I mean how are we going to get a solid grasp of all of your psychological issues if you don't troll harder? Amateurs man...

If its beautiful show it on the Wii U. I bet a ton of Wii U owners are interested in seeing a demo of the gamepad with this title.

The fact that Wii U games are compared to PS3 and 360 versions says it all really.
TheEvilWithin  +   637d ago
And the other consoles are not being compared to there previous gen? A lot of the games that are coming out are still going to be on current/last gen. You need to think outside the box of just visual presentation. A lot of games could look really good but play like crap or be full of glitches. With Nintendo software you don't get any of that.
Chrischi1988  +   637d ago

"It really say it all" ^^

If the console gets ports from 360 games, how can it look any better? Have you ever seen an Nintendo exclusive game like the new Wind Waker HD? Way ahead of the likes of PS3 or 360.

PS3 is known to be more powerful, but got bad ports, so games didnt really look any better than before. Now the thing is, when Wii U starts getting ps4 ports all the talk will suddenly stop, at least the talk of it being only on par with a ps3, which really is extremly unintelligent to say. Tricore against an hard to optimzeable single core^^ 6 years newer tech against old tech. Lots of Edram and a GPGPU. PS3 aint even close, but for the ps4 hype and the uninformed it will always stay like this, until the ps3 and 360 finally die out.
Activemessiah  +   637d ago
I have this down for the PS4 but if this has something very interesting going on with the Wii U gamepad then I'm sold.
I'll sacrifice graphics over gameplay anyday.

I have a WiiU. Thats all I need for this so called next gen until I see ANYTHING that will make me buy the new stuff. TV shows, movies, realistic water, 60 seconds of more gameplay, fog, realistic rain and dogs aint doing it.
I also have a fantastic PC and all the current gen games. So what do you have to entice me?

I always get any new games I can for WiiU. I don't need to see anything.
Chrono  +   637d ago
I thought Wii U fans are boycotting Ubisoft (one of the very few 3rd party companies that port their games to Wii U).
LOL_WUT  +   637d ago
Some of them are still bitter over the whole Rayman fiasco anyways I wouldn't mind seeing some gameplay footage for this game. This whole it's closer to current gen was to be expected ;)
