IGN: "Last week, Bungie confirmed that it would hold a beta for Destiny in 2014, and this week the developer has started distributing redeemable codes to players with pre-orders."
Gimmie gimmie gimmie gimmie pweeeease bungie. I will go preorder it again for xbone if you want D:
HMMMMMMM is this a surprise, i got mine on the stop when i preordered from gamestop on my receipt.
Got mine last week~
And just as I am reading this article, I get an email from ebgames with my code.
FACK, i gotta preorder this game already
So how would this work for those of us who preordered on next gen consoles?
come January or so, whenever the beta opens up, bungie will give you your redemption code for the platform you select. the code you get for pre-order is just to tie you to bungie so they can send you a beta code later. its sounds more confusing than it actually is. So I preordered the PS4 version on Oct. 1st at Best Buy, they didn't give me a code, so i called their support center and they e-mailed one to me a couple of days later. i then took that code to bungie to say that my bungie.net account gets into the beta.
Sounds so roundabout. I guess I'll give futureshop a call then.
The beta won't start until 2014 after the consoles have released. You enter your beta code in Bungie's website and in a few months they'll send you an email with a download code for whatever console you want.
As he said, preordering the game for what ever platform you want gives you a code to register at Bungie.net. once you've registered that code at Bungie, they tell you that your spot in their upcoming beta is secured and that further instructions to select your platform and redeeming the actual beta keys for said platform will be given early next year, since Spring happens in March, my guess they'll do this in late march early April so people with Next Gen Console won't missout because the beta goes live for everyone next year, no matter if it's current gen or next gen.
Weird. I pre-order through Amazon a couple days ago and never got a code.
