PlayStation Plus: Shadow of the Colossus Free for Members

Posted by Kristine Steimer // Sr. Community Specialist -

Those poor, poor Colossi. All they want is be left alone to wander majestically, but if you want to save your lady friend, you’re gonna have to bring them down. I know. Take a minute to prepare your mental state, and then make sure your hard drive is ready for this awesome game when it becomes free for PlayStation Plus members tomorrow. There are also discounts on some Activision titles including classic titles like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. (PlayStation, PS Vita, PS3, PSP, Shadow of the Colossus)

psn+ members get awesome free games
XB1_PS4  +   289d ago
Can everyone stop saying free? I get games with Ps+ on my Vita, but I pay for the service. Albeit, the service is an amazing value, but it's not free. That's like saying you get free games from gamefly after paying monthly.

XB1_PS4, you get your money back in value within a few months, and any "free" game you get after is essentially free.

@XB1_PS4,

Saw Far Cry 3 in the shops the other day for $80 bucks.
Subscription to plus for a year only costs $70 (here in Oz)

That's just one of many for the year, PS+ games are pretty much free.
Bobby Kotex  +   289d ago
@BitbyDeath Far Cry 3 is $26-$30 at most in Australia. PS+ is a good value, no need to make crap up.

You definitely should. The game is worth a replay obviously, and does look better and is more immersive in widescreen HD.

FamilyGuy  +   289d ago

ziggurcat  +   289d ago

since this generation coming to an end, I could safely announce that PSN+ is one of the greatest thing that got introduced this generation.

as for SOC I already own the HD collection and I won't sell this masterpiece.
prodg52  +   290d ago
Does anyone know if you can remote play the spyro and crash games?
hankmoody  +   290d ago
This is definitely an exclusive that Sony can brag about. I finally got to play this when it was released in that HD two pack with ICO and fell in love with it.

This may be a precursor to some kind of The Last Guardian announcement or news.
sAVAge_bEaST  +   289d ago
My thoughts Exactly,.. Ico, SotC. next BAM! Last Guardian announcement.
clearelite  +   289d ago
I think they mentioned it was still in development so I don't know why they disagreed when I said it "may" happen.
Nice lookin Kaz you got there btw.

Not really, ICO/SOTC was on the EU PSN nearly a year ago, I should know because it was the first time I played either game

Loved them so much I had to own the platinum trophy for the both
Thomaticus  +   289d ago
I was going to replay these games (ico and SotC ) but what's the harm to at least have them on the hard drive and relive some great gaming moments. These games need sequels.....what happens next.....
MASTER_RAIDEN  +   289d ago
noobie question. will downloadable titles be able to transfer from a ps3 to a ps4? i have so many golden downloads under my username and would love to continue playing them on my ps4. I mean its just not autumn until ive played and beaten resident evil 4 for the 400th time ya know?
SaulGoodman  +   289d ago
Do you plan on throwing out your PS3? I wouldn't suggest it because why would they make it possible to transfer PS3 games to PS4? Gaikai is PS4's answer to playing PS3 games but you'll probably have to buy the game all over again. If playing Resident Evil 4 gets you off, keep the Gamecube.
MASTER_RAIDEN  +   289d ago
already got rid of for the ps4 preorder.
SaulGoodman  +   289d ago
I'm sorry but i think that was a mistake. If you want to play PS3 ect. games on PS4 you will have to.......ohhhhh, OOOOhhhhhhhhh, i understand you now. Say if you bought GTA V from the PS store, i would expect you should be able to play it on PS4. Physical copies however i would expect you wont be able to "redownload" and play on PS4. To reiterate, Digital PS3 games on PS4 should not be a problem. Physical disk PS3 games on PS4 just isn't going to happen.
kurruptor  +   289d ago
Digital PS3 games bought on the PS store will not work on the PS4.

Certain companies (for certain games) will allow you to buy the PS3 version, then when the PS4 version comes out.... you can "upgrade" to the PS4 version.

Nothing will work automatically. The games are programmed for completely different system architecture.
