Chris West of SpawnFirst gives his impressions and reviews the beta for Battlefield 4 on the PC
If it wasn't so horribly optimized, I could have an opinion as well. My PC is well above minimum specs, near recommended specs, yet I keep getting awful GPU usage dips resulting in 5fps or so. Pain in the ass of a beta and I really wanna experience it on PC instead of PS3. I had fun on PS3, it's just really freaking ugly to look it.
Yo same problem 6 core 3.8 ghz and nvida 660 2 gig with 8 gigs of 1333. I should be fine but nooooo its horrible opt.
Try the 320.18 drivers. I'm running the game fine.
Plays crap on my comp BF3 plays smooth but this was terrible. Everything set to lowest and still horrid. I was so excited for the game but now I'm going to hold off till maybe way after release or maybe not.
Driver issues most likely. Don't buy till you KNOW that your card will be fine.
It's a beta. This is a build of the game from months ago and is intended to stress the core game and network functions. You should expect a less than perfect experience. :)
I play a LOT of betas. Have been in many unheard of ones too. Most betas actually play quite well even though they are sometimes glitchy and have quite a few bugs but general performance is good. Alpha stages are something else. But seriously this feels like a worse version of Firefall's first alpha stage. I dont think BF4 is at Alpha stage. BF3 Alpha I have played and it ran pretty well, albeit with some bugs but it atleast ran well almost 60fps all the time. This barely touches 35-40 at lowest settings and then drops to mid to low 20's quite a lot. Also if they were testing net code n such atleast the game should run well. This is bad advertisement for them when ppl cant even play the game right. Btw its not just me, there are ppl with kickass setups that have similar issues. Also the new patch didnt fix squat.
IMO the beta was terrible. Had exaggerated fast paced gameplay (ala COD). Felt like player were sliding on ice skates holding paper guns rather than army boots holding a metal wood weapon. I would rate it a 6/10 nothing more...
