Gamedaily writes: "Midway's Mortal Kombat fiends clash with DC's greatest superheroes, but this may cost MK its identity.
Namco Bandai plans to include Yoda and Darth Vader in its upcoming brawler, Soul Calibur IV, giving Star Wars fans the opportunity for numerous dream matches. Now Midway wants a piece of the action with its upcoming Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, available this fall for Xbox 360 and PS3. For the first time in video game history, Mortal Kombat competitors like Scorpion and Sub Zero do battle against DC's greatest, such as Superman and Batman. On paper, this is a comic/game fan's dream. In practice, it could tarnish the MK franchise.
That's because, if very loose rumors are true, the game won't feature fatalities. As of this writing, we could not confirm nor deny the possibility of this being a "clean" fighter, but if these baseless rumors have any weight, DC nixed the idea of having Scorpion ripping off Batman's head. And what would the kiddies think of Superman getting his arms ripped off? Unless Sub Zero has kryptonite gloves, performing a finishing move on the Man of Steel could send the world into a frenzy. After all, the guy stops bullets with his eyeballs."
