Bioshock 2 is the first game to remove Games for Windows Live, and brings some gifts to the fans as well.
Oh wow this is excellent news !! finally getting rid of that crap GFWL plus they added controller support & all DLC`s !! now this is the way to go
What about my achievements??????? :(
I really liked that aspect of GFWL. I just never experienced any of the issues people seem to have with products with the exception of RROD, YLOD, and replacing my ps2. Those were the only products I have ever had issues with software or hardware.
This is good for the masses.
Well, you get the chance to earn the same acheievements over again, but this time they're Steam Acheivements! I know you're getting downvoted, but part of me agrees with you. I remember getting Halo 2 and Shadowrun for PC, and earning achievement points was like pretending I had an Xbox 360. A year later I got a 360, though.
Forget about your achievements. Besides, isn't the game experience the most important thing?
Now I need Arkham City to drop GFWL also so I can finally replay it
What is the issue you're having with Arkham City?
Edit: I play it atleast once a week, trying to get all the riddler trophies, lol.
All my saved games were deleted and I could not continue any achievements that I was working on due to a GFWL fuck up. I tried to get all the riddler trophies and finish on new game plus....GFWL wouldn't let me.
yea i shall be well glad when Arkham Asylum & City are free of GFWL, also Dirt 2
There's a very good chance The Arkhams will be freed of their GFWL shackles. Dirt 2... maybe not. I also know there are going to be some games that never get it removed; I think they're just going to stop working. Ultra Street Fighter 4 will run on Steamworks, so I guess Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition will just be left to rot.
1 down, A lot more to go :D The great GFWL scrap begins now! EDIT: Woop! Got the DLC for free too :)
The second game is probably going to be Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. I believe they've been chomping at the bit to remove GFWL, but couldn't due to contracts and whatnot.
Nice :) But lets be fair here, If they have stated to shut down the GFWL then the contracts should be void. Unless Micro$oft pulled another stunt...
