'Watch Dogs' will allow players to control helicopters

While Examiner did break the news of not being able to fly aircrafts back in August, Ubisoft has confirmed that players will be able to hack into helicopters and control them that way.

Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin was explaining how players can hack into each others game and he did talk about how one of the ways players can disrupt others is by taking control of helicopters that are searching for players. (PC, PS3, PS4, Watch Dogs, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

I really feel like if your going to do an open world game these days then you have to give us the freedom to explore the place with as many ways as possible.

Least it's a thing to add onto Watch Dogs 2. When you have a game like GTAV for example where you can do so much with the world and you go onto ANOTHER open world game your mind will want to do the same kind of stuff in that game aswell because you've been exposed to so much....if you can't you might feel a tad disappointed. Obviously some things don't belong in WatchDogs from GTAV, different themes/tones but I still would of liked to explore the place in an air vehicle

It's what I hated about L.A Noire, such a big map and you couldn't do anything.

I hear you on this one. But I think we need to give Watch Dogs a chance to establish its own identity as a franchise, independent of GTA. It's obviously the tendency we all have to want to compare Watch Dogs and other open-worlders to GTA, but I think the harder we try to not do that, the better.

GREAT INSIGHT crock7......

Gotta wait and see what they do and respect their creative choices. If you want the same features as GTA, go play GTA.

Folks complain a lot about a game not being like something else. KZ is a great example, with the weight of its guns, and people complaining it wasn't like CoD. Well, it's not CoD, it's KZ.

I hope WD ends up doing its own thing. They need to do what they have to to convey their creative vision.

OPEN YOUR MIND FOLKS.

I disagree. If you want to pay gtaV, go play gtaV. Watch dogs I'd a different game, so naturally the player character has different abilities. Ubi shouldn't waste their time trying to cram everything gta in their world, they should spend it making their world stand on its own.

I never said they should

I just said it's hard for people who have came off GTAV to come into a game like WatchDogs which is also an open world game which is limited in stuff to do outside of the main missions.

However if it's an open world game they have to keep it interesting for people who want to explore.

@foxtrot

There is plenty to do it watch dogs. No you can't go golfing, or parachute from the top of a mountain... but those things would be out of scope and out of character.

as Aiden, you can roam around, listening to other npc's and intervene in their lives for better or worse. You can also hop on-line and hack other players.

So the things you can do outside of the main missions are within the games themes.

Um, no, sandbox city doesn't mean every building should be scalable and every vehicle should be drivable. Hell I wouldn't even be surprised if Aiden didn't even know how to actually drive a helicopter, which is completely different from a boat and a car.

That's cool. Watch Dogs will definitely be a good game, but I think Ubi over did it with all the trailers. Then again, I'm just gonna have to wait and play whenever I get the chance.

Yeah, I definitely agree!! Ubisoft put out waaay too many trailers and gameplay videos for this game. It's like they showed us the entire game (I kid, I kid). At the end of the day, I think Watch Dogs will end up being a great and successful game.

Yeah I mean Ubi did a great job of saying a lot about Watch Dogs without really saying much at all. I mean how much do we really know about Watch Dogs' story, Chicago, things you can do, places outside of Chicago you can go (which they did say you can do), and so many other things. We've seen a lot, but we don't know much, if that makes sense.
CrossingEden  +   450d ago
They did so many trailers and we still don't know who the main antagonist or dedsec is. :/

So like during a fire fight you can hack up a chopper to come unleash hell on the cops/thugs....sounds tight

I keep getting hate for this but GTA V has really made this game seem really lame.

Chicago map isnt that big but if the Cops can fly heli's why cant Aden?

Im glad its not like that ridiculous do-what-u-want kinda world that is GTA.

Watch Dogs is more grounded and I love its take on density over distance. Also Dam oh dam GTA feels so comical with lame humour being its filler entertainment when the shooting is horrid and gameplay is just a rinse n repeat.

Watch Dogs feels fresh. Nuff said
