Nvidia Closes $5 Million Deal with Ubisoft

Maximum PC: Watch Dogs is shaping up to be a huge game and Nvidia seems to agree. They’ve spent around $5 million to finalize a deal with Ubisoft to give Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed 4 PC-exclusive effects and features.

If you’re holding out for Watch Dogs or Assassin’s Creed 4 on a PC running an Nvidia card, this is great news. Expect better performance and maybe even 4K textures. We know that we’re looking forward to Watch Dogs after seeing the amazing DedSec trailer at Gamescom 2013.

Can't wait for watch dogs!

Assassin's Creed IV is really the only one I've been excited for since Brotherhood. Watch Dogs definitely has my attention.
I am planning on grabbing both, and I am happy to hear that, at least from this, I can expect proper PC versions of both games. Running a 680 as well, so this is doubly good.

If I were you, I'd lay more hopes in Ubisoft actually optimizing CPU code better for AC4.

AC3 was absolutely horrible in that aspect. One of the worst ports in existence.

TedCruzsTaint1812d ago

Ah.
Didn't know.

Here's to hoping then.
Sad. Ubisoft is usually pretty on-point with their ports, even if they are often times delayed.

Pre-ordered Watch Dogs, ready to rock out with my **** out.

1 This deal is stupid if it hinders consoles or AMD in any way. Paying to make it "exclusive" while entirely possible elsewhere? Or hell what it if "breaks" the games for AMD users? Its absolute BS if this is their intentions.

2 Why not make this deal with more PC oriented developers? Ubisoft has never really been good at porting anything to PC except Far Cry.

Nvidia is doing what AMD is doing with mantle. All is fair in the war of the graphic titans.

Soldierone1812d ago

They are making it work with Mantle, it doesn't say it will off exclusive features that could be available elsewhere.

However AMD is the same thing to me. IF they make deals to hinder NVidia users, its just plain stupid. So you basically create a war within a war? PC is already trying to get more customers, now you go divide them between hardware choices?

I hate buying Ubisoft games on PC because of Uplay.
