Yep what better way to market the xbone than to make a tour??
When I was a kid, Nintendo did a tour with the Super Nintendo. They came to the mall by me about 6 months before the system launched. The entire center of the mall had arcade cabinets set up with a few different games to try out. TMNT was there and it looked amazing. I had to have that system and TMNT as well as Mario bros. I saved my birthday money, allowance, I asked for money for Christmas and a few days after Christmas, I bought my SNES with the bazooka. Lol. My point is, the tour is a way to get people excited. To show people that aren't in the know a new product. It's for the parents to see before they buy it for their kids. I live in New York so The tour isn't coming near me but if it was I would be going and I'd be taking my kid with me. Being a gamer, it's an exciting time when new consoles get released. This is my nephews first time seeing the evolution of gaming (The Wii U doesn't count). His first console was a 360 so he will be able to see the advancements and changes that occur with a new system. Just like I had seen with the Atari 2600 to the Commadore 64 to the NES to the SNES to the N64 to the Dreamcast to the Saturn to the Playstation to the PS2 to the Xbox to the Xbox 360 to the PS3 and now to the Xbox One and PS4. Holy Crap, I'm old!
Wow, youve been on the atari days?? Hehe don't worry, Age doesnt matter bro in gaming. Have you seen the news about an 86 yr old grandmother who plays PS3?? whatever we hardcore gamers play, she plays it too. Very nice and quite funny and inspiring :) she plays those GTA IV and even disgaea 3 which looks simple but a hard RPG. I can say even when i get old, i will still be playin games because we grew up on it. Just like you which already established a family and yet your still a gamer. average age of gamers around the world is 35 they say.
@CEOSteveBallmer That's my plan. I'm 32 and plan on gaming as long as possible. My fiancée isn't really into many games although she has been playing Final Fantasy XI for 10 years and is now hooked on Final Fantasy XIV. So, she is cool with my gaming. We are raising her nephew, he's 8, and gaming has been a way for us to connect and have fun with each other. With the Xbox, especially Kinect, it's easy to get the entire family involved, grandparents included, and gaming together. We've enjoyed time together with the PS3 as well with LBP and LBP Karting and similar games but the Xbox seemed more family friendly. Maybe it was the avatars, either way game is a great way to get involves with your kids lives. I think this tour is a great way to make people aware of the Xbox and gaming in general. Also, to those who don't like the Kinect being bundled, I think it's great that it's included. My mom loved to bowl but she had a severe hand injury and can no longer lift a bowling ball. I bought a Xbox/Kinect bundle with Kinect Sports for my parents and for the first time in years she was able to bowl. It's hard enough for MS or Sony to to attract the casual gamer. It's even harder to get them to buy peripherals. I know some gamers don't care about casual gamers or feel that they aren't as important as hardcore gamers but the casuals do count. The more people involved in the gaming community, the better. More people, more money. More money, more and better games. More people, the more gaming becomes a respected medium.
