A slideshow from nVidia could suggest that Watch Dogs, of all Ubisoft titles releasing this holiday season, won't use Tessellation.
Watched a few videos to educate myself on the technique, seems very cool if implemented. However, I don't think it's a game breaker if it is omitted in the final product. As long as the sacrifices are made for a good reason, there should be no major issues IMHO.
Even GT6 has tessellation: http://www.gamesradar.com/w...
Awesome find man, GT6 looks awesome. Probably get back into some Gran Turismo with that one, haven't gotten the last few. Might pick up GT5 XL with all the DLC and what not, seems like a great deal. Would you recommend GT5? Seems like you might know a bit more about it than I do.
Yes but having tessellation on a small map based racer is a lot less stress on hardware then a full open world environment. Big difference. Though why not on PC is kinda strange
Hi, I know a lot about gran turismo. Been playing the games since GT1. I recommend you wait a few weeks and get Gran Turismo 6.
Yep, a design choice with both rhyme and reason, I'm sure. As long as it doesn't prevent me from running down old ladies in the street, then it's all good!
I don't see why this shouldn't have Tessellation on PC. It seems to be a nice feature that is being included in a lot of recent PC titles.
Nvidia is working well, good investment.
This article is trash. All games uses tessellation, this is not something you can clearly tell from a god damn promo slide show. Plus it doesn't make any sense, if Nvidia is sponsoring all Ubisoft games then why would Ubisoft not use tessellation on the PC? Who approved this garbage anyway?
I hope someone got this wrong, because PC is where I'm buying this!
Same here, I know its first gen software for next gen hardware, I'm just not that impress so far. Deep Down and FF 15 are probably the best looking games out the bunch.
Those, Killzone & inFAMOYS! All stellar looking, early next gen titles.
@ CGI Qauality I thought KZ was abit too jaggy for my taste, and besides KZ3 (hated the ending) KZ 1&2 were pretty average to awful. Infamous does look good, but I don't care for the main character. Reminds me of the latest Devil May Cry character young teenage/early twenties crap with an attitude. I want the short hair cut/bald I look sick but I will kick your a$$ Cole back. But yeah very good looking game that probably will be become Sony first million seller.
I was talking visuals. How you felt about Killzone as games isn't important there. Graphically, they always set benchmarks on PlayStation consoles.
Don't understand why it would be missing out in Watch Dogs. It's been in almost every recent PC game, so can't imagine it not being on this one. No reason for it not to be...
Makes no sense to me at all. As long as the game looks good though, that's all I care about.
As long as it looks as good as the first ever demo of the game, I have no problem.
Watch Dogs is arguably their biggest game coming out this year... Why wouldn't it be implemented?
I dont know or care about what tessellation is, doubt its going to affect my gameplay of it in the slightest.
Nvidia's Ubisoft line-up is WEAK as far as Graphics. None of those games have mind blowing graphics. AC looks the best but is no where near Crysis or BF3 level of graphics. AMD made a good move by partnering with DICE and the glorious Frostbite 3 Engine as that Engine is really next Gen along with the CryEngine 3. As far as Watchdogs goes, The PC version lacks bells and whistles cause right now it just seems like a console port.
