'Assassin's Creed 4' was green lit as an Xbox One and PS4 game 'years ago'

Assassin's Creed 4 was originally green lit as a project for the next-generation of gaming, and while it is still being released on current-generation consoles, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 look like they will be receiving the best experience possible.

In an exclusive interview with Examiner, Assassin's Creed 4 game director Ashraf Ismail confirmed to us that it was years ago when Ubisoft decided this game was going to be hitting next-generation consoles.

Smart move to keep this game available on current gen machines. Depending on how quickly they turn around another Assassin's Creed game we may still see the next game in the series appear on current gen too. Hard to ignore a combined userbase of 150 million almost (PS3 + 360) and just focus on the PS4 and XB1 which will have like 1% of that userbase.

I see this a lot and I don't really understand.

If I like something, seeing more of those games is a good thing.

If I don't like it, or I'm tired of it, I don't care anyway.

So... I don't see the problem. lol

Yes, Resident Evil didn't care about rejigging more or less the same mansion and just adding different offshoots to it. Unless it was a one -off kind of masterpiece in the first place like The Unfinished Swan there's no point hanging around to release sequels.
