For me /// 1. Gameplay/controls. 2. Story/sound. 3. graphics/atmosphere.

it all varies by game for me. i like too many different kind of games from so many different genres and i look at them all differently. too hard to answer this, my brain litterally almost exploded trying to conjure up an accurate list; mission impossible.

Number one for me is the feel of the controls. How does it feel when it is actually in your hands. Is it responsive? Is it fun?

Next for me is level design. I love actually thinking (or stating out loud) that 'this is brilliant' level design. I did it alot during TLOU where you come out in a level near someone you have seen 20 minutes back. Very clever and requires mastery.

Story depends on the genre. RPG's, I need something to draw me in. A driving game, that is more about how it feels. An action adventure for me needs the strongest story. Especially if they are linear with a lack of replay value. You can always go back to the story.

Artstyle/Atmosphere/Visuals are next up and I prioritise them in that order. Combined with the previous points then you are getting toward a perfect game.

Finally, and not because it isn't important, is the score, sound design, and voice acting. Many a promising RPG has been ruined by dire voice acting, and taking Deus Ex HR as an example, the right score can really add to the sense of immersion.

It's now time for somebody to go up to Xbox Live Gold whilst it's fast asleep, then hold a pillow tight over its mouth until it stops breathing.

crazyCoconuts260d ago

This is game pass though. Doesn't seem that much better right now.

Profchaos260d ago

Looking at the quality of games mixing the two up in this case it's an easy mistake to make

BrainSyphoned260d ago

I forgot Everspace 2 released so I'm happy with this month.

Profchaos260d ago

Well I guess we know where all that gamepass money is going right into a giant s labelled bucket

ChasterMies260d ago

Microsoft is spending $70B on Activision. That doesn’t leave a lot left over for other AAA games.

I've really wanted to play A Short Hike and Airborne Kingdom for a while now so it's cool they've been added but yeah I don't see this exciting the masses
