Rockstar Games will be resolving the issues that many users are suffering from GTA Online.
A fix for the disparaging cars would be nice, give me a reason to actually spend my money.
Needs to be quick all I got to see was the intro... I hate when people disagree with facts!!!
GTA race is fun! Riding a bicycle, able to use weapons, and then there were ramps in that map.
And while you're at fixing the game, please fix the horrible character creator ...
I start to hate this "cloud" thing... also GTA5 online so far is worse than GTA4 was... damn.. why are they doing this? :) *Occasional "Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable" error message *Freezing sometimes while loading into first race in GTAO with "waiting for other players" on the screen *Intermittent "Failed to Host a GTA Online Session" error messages *Race Corona (start area, marker) occasionally not showing up for first race *Errors saying "Timed out when matchmaking for a compatible GTA Online Session to join" *Occasional errors about jobs failing to start or load *Misc. network and server-related error messages, disconnections, or cloud server errors *Errors saying "Mission Failed" as soon as the mission begins during a session ^^^ WTF is all that above... I was expecting some "issues", due to many people trying to join at the same time.. but this, all this is like children building high end security software making it worse and worse :)
GTA 5 Online worse than GTA 4 online? I know we are frustrated but let's be real here, firstly we should judge both on gameplay and secondly I STILL cant connect online with friends in GTA4......5 years later!!!
Still works better than the US government.
@Tvensky - That list just shows the lack of QA that went on with this online stuff. That said, I'm saddened by the number of people who are screaming for refunds on the Rockstar update page. GTA5 is a huge game with more content than 4 or 5 average games put together, and GTA Online is a huge free addition... that happens to not be working yet. I really have to call BS on those who say they bought GTA5 just for the online content, though I suppose with humans anything is possible.
They actually patched the disappearing cars and customizations today when gta online went live - or dead as it were
I got new "info" sign "now cars can be stored in garage safely" I got it after the update.. meanwhile I had some cars in the garage and they are still there!
According to R* this issue was addressed in the title update that was release today.. I can confirm, that for me, it was indeed working.
Didn't work for me and a few others I know ;(
I played for about 4-5 hours today and had no problems online at all. Online is awesome.
After about 2hours trying to get around the bug of that first race not triggering I finally got in by starting an online private session. I was on it then for about 5hours too. It's awesome!! But, it's laggy as hell!! I know it's to be expected as the servers are getting pounded but I think the problem is that it doesn't seem to have any location filter when searching for a session. For the 5 or so hours I was playing 90% of the free roam lobbies I was in was full of American players and other times Australian players. I'm in Ireland so it's bound to be laggy as hell connecting to sessions hosted on the other side of the planet!! The search needs to have regions so that you're playing with gamers less than a thousand miles away at least!!!!
Yea and maybe do something about the pop ins...when you driving in races they get pretty bad
get rid of that horrible create a character while your at it.. god that shit was retarded..
It's not great, I'm not sure what they were thinking just give me a create a character with sliders and the ability to make my character at least slightly good looking my current character is just ugly..
Worst customization ever, it took me a good hour just to get a decent looking character that I can't even play as.
Im 90% sure this create a character mode will be temporary. Rockstar decided to focus their resources on making the game itself work. Thats more important at this point than the cosmetic stuff. The make your own grandparents thing was a desperate attempt to do something unique to mask the fact that they didnt have time to create a comprehensive create a character system like Saints Row.
I agree, you would think that they would make it to where you could customize your character to resemble themselves or someone else. Basing it off of family is just stupid.
The worst thing is that your stats are attached to how the character looks. You set the stats how you like it to then find out that your character looks like sht!! Then you feel "forced" to change your stats to change your character and end up having a character en killset that you don't even want loool so it's like you either care about your character or the stats and try not to give a damn about how the other thing is set up......ugh! so messed up!!! lol
@Logic - As usual you make me wonder why you're allowed to keep that name. They may eventually change how characters are made, but the grandparents thing is not a mask. They simply tried to do something unique that ended up sounding better on paper. If time was an issue they could have done something more straightforward, which is what they should have done anyway.
Well it isn't like they were just going to go 'screw it, we'll leave it as it is'. Please fix the... let me rephrase, please send the character creator to the deepest depths of hell as that is where the beast created with it belong.
So far my online experience sucks considering I havent been able to play online yet. Character customization isn't good but I finally got a good character made. I just wish they would fix it so I can have the experience It already.
Havent tried online yet but will the streets become more dense and populated with NPCS watching a stream last night and the world felt quite empty
How about removing the online issue of buying virtual money?
You don't ever need to buy the money packs. You earn money way faster online than in the singleplayer. The game is balanced towards the players who will never buy those packs, not the other way around. The packs are meant for the players that don't have a lot of free time to play.
haven't tried the online yet but hopefully by the time i finish the story i'll be able to play a smoother version.
I was expecting lag and multiple disconnects. I wasn't it to be completely unplayable. At this rate, it'll be the weekend or even longer before I can finally play it.
Got in for about an hour and a half today on the 360 version. What I have played of it so far is actually pretty nice. Now just fix the servers and I will be a happy camper. BF4 beta on my PC it is until they get it sorted.
I can't even play online Lol. After creating a character (which is god awful and stupid - I mean, there's an option to chose your PARENTS? Wtf), the game fails at finding people and sends me back to story mode
C'mon come oooooooown
I read that as Jimmy from South Park.
Latest update broke my game entirely... I can no longer bring up the character wheel to switch characters, nor can I take on singleplayer missions... Deleted the update, and still broken. Not sure if I'm the only one with this problem...
Reinstall the update and try connecting to the online part again. My character wheel then reappeared.
Still doesn't work. >_> Second time I tried that, actually...
I think the problem is the fact that the game thinks to be in online modus... even though he couldn't connect... Try reloading the last saved game...like Jiminip says...
I fixed mine by reloading the last saved game.
Still nothing... Only saves I keep are the autosave, and one manual save. Gonna try loading a replay of an old mission...
Loaded a replay of an old mission, and the character wheel worked during. When the mission was over, stopped working again... Dunno what to do.
Try this http://support.rockstargame...
Thanks, I've already tried all the things they suggested many times... "try connecting to GTAO in Solo Mode, and immediately after getting in, return to Story Mode." There is no "getting in"... Can only return to story mode once it kicks me out for not being able to connect. That's all my bubbles. I guess I'll just follow that post for any progress...
The PS3 is suffering from real problems right now. There is no success stories whatsoever. This doesn't appear to be an intermittent server problem; if that was the case at least some would get through like on the Xbox. This appears to be an issue with the game itself or something on Sony's side, maybe a compatibility issue. I think us lot on the PS3 won't see GTA Online until it gets patched.
Yep the online has been out for 24 hours+ and not a single one of my real or even PSN friends have been able to get it to work at all. You get the intro if you play a solo session but the first race won't load and it boots you out. Or you try to join a game and just get an error straight away.
A couple of my friends have played online on the ps3. They even made Crews and stuff, it's not Sony or PS3 it R*. I got in to the online but was kicked out when it said I couldn't host the game.
Can't even play it, the launching session thing loops continuously after talking to Lamar and it takes me to the first race. I've gone back to it 4 tines throughout the day and even left the last one on for an hr and I never got past it.
Need ban for a race too early host XD
fuck that game....erased all of my single player data when I updated.
The fact is that a lot of people stopped attempting to connect to online.(ps3) I was up at 6:45 am oct 1 and i played through the intro and it still had bugs. Its now 5:35 am and its still having the same issue(cant sign in). Im just saying is Rock* had plenty of time to get this game ready and they messed up.I remember the public beta when they tested out the servers.....oh wait they never did. Great job! From what i played online i noticed something that really bothered me. 16 players online WILL not cut it. Play on pc. I hear its going to have way more player count. At the end of the day its GTA as we know it. That damn trailer hyped us up way too much and we got more excited than next gen consoles at the time. Its a sandbox game that we are going to get bored of really quick. Ive beat one GTA and that was the 3rd one. I still think to this day San Andreas was the best. Gang wars im done. I still think GTA 5 is a great game and probably the best sandbox game i played in awhile(just beat Blood Dragon wow!) Ive been gaming since the early 90s and im positive this is a benchmark game but we seen this game plenty of times.Im worried the online isnt going to be waht we expected it to be. If your a casual gamer the online should be fine but we know for hardcore gamers its going to be ehhhh with the auto aim. Anyways Damn you Rockstar for hyping this online so much when you can barely run half the community of Battlefield and Call of duty(Lately Black ops 2 has been less than 100,000 people). Am i right about this game or most of you 10 year old kids that think this game is the best thing that ever happened? N4G dont let me down, i know there are still a few mature gamers on here.
Oh, so if I disagree with you and tell you that this game is still the best thing that ever happened I am now "immature" or even a "10 year old"? Oh the irony... It's okay to like different games mate; I love sandbox games and I love GTA so I think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
You played and completed one GTA and now you are an expert on the series. Half the community of BF or CoD? You do know this game sold around 15mil at launch? Essentially R* was trying to give us two full games in GTA5, and GTA:O is the biggest online they have attempted surely there would be problems.....just like BF and CoD has had in the past Lol @ play on PC.....what is the PC versions release date? You come in here a call people 10 year olds for liking a 17+ rated M game......then your comment uses preteen logic
experience on my xbox 360 has been awesome no problems at all MS just has the better network, afterall we pay for it :)
I got through the create a character and then couldn't connect. So continued with SP story mode instead. Hopefully it works better soon, sounds like fun.
I managed to have a play at long last, though my original level 4 character got deleted... I just hope the next time I go on my character remains.
Managed to get in and get my car and such, but matchmaking and trying to play a deathwatch or mission takes a freaking long time.
a fix for the single player on 360 would be great, as there are still millions of us who can not play past the second mission because it always freezes.
Really? Millions? This is the first I've heard of this problem, and you say millions of 360 people can't play single play past mission 2? That doesn't even make sense, if that was true every comment on this site would mention it, and I would imagine even the news would be covering that "millions" of people who bought the fastest selling IP in entertainment history (1 billion in 3 day) can't even play it. I'm not even saying that a problem doesn't exist, but I would think I would have heard something about it before this comment. I have it for 360, and I’m way past that, I must be one of the lucky few right?
Edit: Yea man you're full of $h!t, I can't even find one example, or article about the problem you're talking about on a google search. If it's really kept "MILLIONS" of people from playing past mission 2, it would be all over the internet, and plus you couldn't stand this place due the the PS zealots spamming that $hit in every article, if it was true or a rumor.
I remember I had an issue playing newer discs on my old Xbox mostly during cut-scenes. Look up some stuff regarding the laser adjustment for your lens. Found the screw and turned it up slightly, haven't had an issue reading games since.
Related solution - if it is an issue w/ the disc and you are scared of fixing the hardware: 1. Install the "Install" disc to your hard drive 2. Install the "Game" disc to a USB Thumb Drive with at least 16 GB of space Doing this eliminates the performance issues of installing both discs to one location. It also boosts performance in general. There's a video somewhere showing the differences. The load times are significantly reduced as well.
They are taking pay to win down?
My roommate and I were able to get on last night on 360, we stayed up until 6am playing... It is great fun when it works. Once we passed the tutorial, it was smooth for the most part. It was all out mayhem, and surprisingly, 16 players felt good. There was always something to do, missions, deathmatches, races, etc, and all of the random things I saw were crazy. Its lived up to my expectations and I really hope I'm able to get back on tonight.
From what I hear the 360 owners aren't having too much trouble, but I'm yet to hear a single PS3 owner say they could pass the first mission. Maybe MS really do have a much faster network. It could always be an issue over at R*.
I just played on the ps3 for about 8 hours now. Everything was smooth EXCEPT two major issues. One was not been able to join my friends or they join me what so ever. The other was I kept losing the characters I created. Lost about 4 hours of progress because of it.
That didn't sound very "smooth" at all.
Not sure if your friends have finished the tutorial or not, but it won't let you invite or join them until its finished. We had that problem for a while last night. As soon as he finished the first deathmatch, everything opened up
This is a terrible launch
Oh really? I thought that they would just leave it broken. What kind of stupid title is this?
Played until level 5 and after it just glitched by showing me empty wall inside of a building and not loading after whitch I simply didnt have my character anymore
