Metal Gear Online Revived by Metal Gear Community.

For the first time since 2007. A game of Metal Gear Online has been played over the internet. (PC, PS2)

I remember the night the servers went down. During the last few hours, people from opposing teams were just saluting each other and making friendly unarmed duels. Such a great moment and a great game

i never thought this would even make it here in n4g, metal gear online is the most underrated shooter online. they just recently shut down the servers for mgo2, im still shocked konami hasnt brought this back on psn... people would still buy this it is better than peace walker online when it comes to headshots.

I don't know why they close the servers each time for each game. Counter Strike is like 15 years old, yet it has the most and fileld servers in any online game.

Thats because people host those servers. Its not the game company that hosts those servers. Im pretty sure metal gear online was hosted on the companies machines which is lame... consoles tend to do that a lot for some reason. Like they feel people are too dumb to control their own servers.

I mean 12 year olds have their own counterstrike servers lol... in fact u can pay money for someone else to host a server for you that you can control and set up the rules for. (kind of the way it is for all pc games)

Honest to god MGO is/was a masterpiece.
The 1st person to 3rd person combat is still mind blowing.

Very sad it was a bitch to Log In (especially first time)
and was too hard for a lot of people

MGO2 took up a lot of my time when I first got my PS3. I remember all the craziness that went on on the MGO forums too. I don't think MGSV will be able to recreate the same feel that MGO2 had. My guess is that if V has multiplayer, it will be similar to GTAV or RDR.
