If there's one thing that's immediately obvious about Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway--the latest in a series of World War II first-person shooters from Gearbox Software--it's that the people working on it are incredibly passionate about the subject matter. They've gone to great lengths to capture and convey the life of a soldier on the frontlines, and hearing Gearbox president and CEO Randy Pitchford talk about the overarching goals for the series reveals some of that.
"We wanted Brothers in Arms to be an authentic war experience that focuses on the tactics and the strategy of battle and not just be reaction time skill tests," he explained. "But we also wanted it to reflect on the brotherhood between soldiers. Of course, there's all this chaos and devastation, but we wanted to be able to make friends and we wanted you to care about these guys."
