Transistor Dev: PS4 8GB RAM Allows More Breathing Room, Sony Put a Lot of Faith In Smaller Dev Teams

Ravi: "Continuing our talk with Supergiant Games creative director Greg Kasavin, who is currently bringing Transistor to the PlayStation 4 and PC, we asked how the development team was using the 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM that the PS4 provided. " (PS4, Transistor)

PS2 era, the ideas were more open minded, everyone wasn't trying to make the same game.

I think Sony's PS4 will reach sales higher than the PS2. Looks cool.

How much ram is available to devs?

This is the million dollar question right here. How much resource overhead does the PS4 have and how does that compare to the Xbox One. Just judging by how simplistic the UI is, I have hopes that's it's not to high but honestly, anything under 6 gigs is extremely disappointing.

"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. But today is a gift, and that is why it's called the Playstation 4"

Good to hear sony is doing good on the indie front. Concerning the ('indie') game Transistor does not really seems like a next gen game to me also hate the voice of the sword. But hey at the right price who knows.
