Recently you’ve seen quite a few shots of the PS4′s interface, but what about the interface of those sleek DevKits that you see at industry events and you’d love to bring home, but unfortunately you can’t? Here it is, caught on Video.
i don't know about you guys but i think that confirms that the PS4 UI will still have dynamic themes yessssssssss and not to mention how smooth he was jumping through the menus overall i like what i'm seeing.
talk about an overhaul. What gets me excited for the ps4 is that you can tell Sony learned a lot from this current Gen. The UI looks amazing. Can't wait come Nov. 15.
Like the speed increase. Like the simplicity of navigation. I wonder what a "Name Request" is. I also like where they put the "Downloads" button now so its right there on the main panel. Its not flashy but its fast and smooth. Hopefully this means that Shu's demo of instantaneous match join works just like he showed.
yes i hope they still have dynamic themes right now i have the RAIN one and i like how its raining with the ambulance in the background and people walking around on the xmb
I just hope they take the same approach ith the PS-Store. The UI looks really slick, I can't wait to see the dynamic theme of games like inFamous or KillZone.
Would be better with a mouse.
dam, that looks pretty smoooth
Looks really fluid not clunky I love it.
I'm Sorry... did I just see EDIT USERNAME!?
Isn't that what people see you as and not really editing you username. I may be completely wrong
Isn't that kinda the point? I presume it may work similar to the alias system on steam?
you could edit your username on ps3. it's not your gamertag/id it's what you see on the console to login
Im pretty sure its just your loaal profile name. Just like how you can edit your profile name on Ps3.
Either way that will be awesome for me. It means I don't have to setup a second account for my platoon username on BF, I can just edit my username.
It's probably the profile on the console and not your PSN ID. Like on the PS3.
No, on a Japanese PSN account you can change your username. Didn't you guys know that?
Yeeeeesss I flipped out when I saw it
yes, but since it's a debug kit, it might not be on the retail units :(
To be fair they did say this was a dev kit so don't get your hopes up too much. You never know though
Looks really smooth
Killer ui confirmed
Lol Ksar if this a troll idgi.. so 10/10. Surely you of all people can't be calling something regarding Sony PlayStation 4, 'nice'. :P
Is this a trick?
He need some bubbles :D
@MotoDot You need some English classes.
looks plain..nothing a theme can fix i guess
The word devkit comes to mind
inFAMOUS Second Son dynamic theme please!! I would love that ^^. Or how about a Dynamic Drive Club theme with an awesome car in the middle and it progresses through a day and night cycle. That would be an awesome dynamic theme. Also, damn that UI is fast! It's literally instant...Can't wait for next gen.
It'll change color from month to month like the PS3, I think.
1GB GDDR for the OS is pretty damn smooth and slick. Sony's are not playing with the UI. I'm so glad they did this. Greatness awaits.
Wait so it's confirmed 1GB for the OS? If so, that's pretty damn awesome.
Dude,The OS Takes about 2.5/2.0GB
Dude, you don't know that, neither do I, because it was never confirmed.
I thought it was true, but not to the extent of 2.5. What I think this is, is Sony have insured themselves some wiggle room this time, so they are not left with another PS3 situation of not having enough RAM to perform some memory-intensive tasks, or add features like cross-game chat down the line. It's going to be more than 1GB, but about an extra 1GB of RAM reserved for future updates. Nothing concrete has been confirmed though.
Windows 7 cough cough 512mb RAM cough cough Extremely smooth cough
Need a Ricola?
Looks really smooth and definitely a possibility for themes return, which is a definite plus for PlayStation. But with that said, how much resource overhead does the PS4 actually have? As a person who plans on being a PC/PS4 gamer this gen, I'm generally concerned with how much of the PS4s memory is specifically dedicated to games and how much is available for them in general(i.e how much memory is the OS taking up). I know they clarified that there is flexible memory within the system, but how much is dedicated and to what purpose exactly. Console used to have a massive advantage over PCs when it came to extremely overhead(see PS2) but with the current gen that got advantage got significantly reduced and it looks as though the trend is continuing into the next-generation consoles. With most major things out of the way, shouldn't we now be focusing on a topic like this, because this directly pertains to just how future proof the console really is.
i wonder how that internet browser is.
I how you can still download from the browser.
DAT GUY SPOILER "go back to the xmb" and btw guys i have been banned for 30 days bans over now 30 days later.. it was due to a argument with green powers that got him banned to and im very depressed id like some bubbles pls ps4 day one i cant wait :*(
Lol @ sympathy bubble.. i love it!
its ok. you got green powers banned.
Thank you for getting that troll off this site. We salute you.
I'm so happy they kept the XMB, but in a more discreet form. Sly you, Sony. Animations are slick, and customisation means a lot to me, so I'm glad their not stepping back from that with this interface. I think the PS4 OS/Network is going to surprise people more than these initial leaks suggest.
Just hope dynamic themes are back. Being able to control were we can put our apps in any order like Psvita would be cool to see on PS4 also.
49 days to go can't wait for stores to get the PS4 demo units :-D
I'm going to figure out a way to dual boot the ps4 with steam OS
your goin to figure out how to get yah self console banned
wow.. every time i see this UI i like it more and more.. so happy that it is most likely going to support dynamic themes
very fast and fluid. That's all we really wanted
