The original was amazing.

Though I wish we could have a new one based on today's technology.

Basically that would mean reskinning Madden 25 with monsters, creating some of those weird rules, dirty plays, and random holes in the field, etc. Even if it was based off of 360/PS3 console version and thus ancient and ugly tech, it would be ok.

It sucks they want to make a mobile focused game with insane kickstarter stretch goals which means it might just be a mobile only game.

Also it wasn't a side scrolling football game, but top down. So this is more like Mutant Tecmo Bowl rather than Mutant League based off of Madden '94 ('93 or whatever).

DBPG: Mutant Football League Review (XboxONE)

After two Kickstarter campaigns, we finally received the spiritual successor to Mutant League Football on the Sega Genesis. With a fun yet simple control, this charming throwback does its job well.

Graphics are pretty good for a low budget game. The 6 different character types all have a lot of personality and the stadium graphics get the job done. The commentary is fantastic and the voice overs are very funny, but after a few hours you have heard basically everything.

Control is simple yet nostalgia as anyone who played genesis era madden or Blitz will feel right at home. Same goes for the gameplay, and the added dynasty mode and multiple online functions ensures there is plenty of reason to come back.
