Top 5 Games That Pioneered Mechanics

OnlySP takes a look at five games that pioneered gaming mechanics over the last decade or so. (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Mirror's Edge, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360)

"Kill Switch was the first 3rd person shooter to feature a cover system as the main mechanic and also implemented a “blind fire” system into the game, years before the mechanic became a normal occurrence in most 3rd person shooters."

And most MS fan*** were saying gears invented cover system lol

Idk if "most" of the MS fans believe this. I have always been a huge gears fan but the reality is that most early publications centered around gears always lent credit to killswitch. Also, you say it as if the fact that gears did not invent the cover mechanic that somehow it makes the game less of an achievement.
In reality, gears was the first game to really nail the cover-based mechanics, while setting a new bar for console third person shooters. I would be willing to bet most games to implement similar systems since then have looks to that series for inspiration, not killswitch.
Sometimes it is not so much about who invented something and more about who perfected it.
Just because someone is a fan of gears or MS systems and credits epic for their achievements in 2006 does not make them a fanboy. Just so ya know there jack

Considering the scope is only from the last 10 years, not a bad list, but not all of these were pioneers.
