Talking Point: When Will Be the Right Time to Reintroduce The Last Guardian?

Push Square: "Four years. It’s been four years since The Last Guardian was officially announced for the PlayStation 3. A leaked video had revealed the project a few weeks earlier, but it wasn’t acknowledged by Sony until the platform holder’s press conference at E3 2009. That early glimpse – a four-and-a-half minute trailer – remains the most that we’ve seen of Team ICO’s mysterious opus, with the feathery favourite slipping into obscurity over the past couple of years. Creative director Fumito Ueda actually announced his departure from SCE in late 2011, but stated that he would remain committed to the game. That, according to Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, very much remains the case at the time of writing – but will the hotly anticipated adventure ever see the light of day?"

When it's close to its final stage. Heck I don't see why show an unfinished game so early. Unfortunately it will suffer from that.

When is the right time?

HOW ABOUT NOW!!

just make sure it is on PS4 ;)

despair3863d ago

PS5 launch title probably at this rate.

SuperWeeb3863d ago

Honestly? It's going to take a while.
It's evident that this is being switched over to the PS4, we all know that Sony wouldn't hold this one back now that their new console is around the corner. And that switch is going to take time moving to a new console and sprucing up the visuals to match that of next gen.

I personally see this as a holiday 2015 title.

In my opinion either there were big development changes, or they caught that FFVII remake/sequelitis. Afraid everyone's expectations will be higher than what they could deliver.

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88133d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183132d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie131d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.

The Last Guardian Is One of Gaming’s Most Beautiful Depictions of Friendship

Friendship is hard to depict accurately, but The Last Guardian does a good job of showing all its ups and downs through Trico and the boy.

Technical issues aside, this is easily one of my favorite games from last gen.

ClayRules2012816d ago (Edited 816d ago )

I couldn’t agree more. I’ll never forget the emotional experience I had with this game. After waiting all those years, and than to finally play it. It was a visual beauty, along with offering a story/friendship between the 2 characters that was unique and unforgettable. Far surpassed my expectations. A masterpiece!

Technical issues aside, never have I played anything quite like it!

Magog816d ago

I enjoyed the game but it started out too simple and easy. If the entire game was as intense and challenging as the last 20% it would have been a 10/10 experience.

EvertonFC816d ago

Great game, so underrated. One of my favourites and top 20 games of all time

Phoenix76816d ago

I managed to grab the collectors edition for £40 about a year after it released. Was an enjoyable game, but I had just finished Shadow of the colossus, and whilst I enjoyed it, it was not as good when compared.
