Strippers and Snow: dissecting Lightning Returns’ opening

"Square Enix teased fans at Tokyo Game Show with the first five minutes of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. It then proceeded to throw a bone to us plebes by putting the trailer up online.

Today I put on my imaginary mage hat and try to make sense of the opening cinematic to the conclusion of the XIII saga. For those of you who are already lost on the three-part storyline at this point, turn back now and abandon all hope (the sentiment, not the character)." - Maxwell Coviello (Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, PS3, Xbox 360)

"turn back now and abandon all hope". If only I had any... I only had hopes before the first FFXIII game, wich turned into smoke. Only hope I have now is square-enix ending this saga and trying again from scratch, like they pretend to do from the very beginning.

I thought the first two games were good. I don't see why all the hate comes from? I thought Lightning's character was great.

Looking forward to the new game. The only thing that I really didn't like about the games were a Slot machine! Leave it out of the game and things will be golden!

From the trailer it looks like Lumina is Serah for some odd reason. Like she is different now. I am surprise if Lightning didn't recognize here own sister. But maybe she did?

It mostly comes from people who didn't play, or those who haven't played much.

Yes, Lumina does look like Serah. I thought it was her at first glance, as well. But Serah is apparently in the game too, somewhere.

oh yeah they do have an American version. Just look at the LightningReturns.com. Press the American Flag or the Britain Flag.
