Five Ways You Can Make Grand Theft Auto V More Immersive

Kotaku: "Much of the joy of Grand Theft Auto V comes from a sense of freedom, of exploring an entirely different world. The story missions are fine, the heists are neat enough, but the bustling state of San Andreas is the game's crowning achievement. Too bad it's far too easy to run through it and miss the best stuff." (Grand Theft Auto V, PS3, Xbox 360)

In my own opinion Free Aim is actually much better. It far easier to line up head shots in Free Aim with Aim Sensitivity at 70%+ (I prefer right about 70%).

I disabled auto-aim and attempted to use "assisted"-aim for a while to give it a chance but just like auto-aim I found it would focus on the wrong target I intended because two or more people were close together that the game "chose" what it thought I wanted. This irritated the living crap out of me and I've gone 100% free aim strictly because of it. I had a similar problem with GTAIV and ended up all free aim on it as well.

Don't get me wrong, like the author mentioned, free aim isn't perfect in GTA. The free aim, regardless of your sensitivity choice, is not a smooth as it can be in comparison to other third person over the shoulder shooters. GTA has a severe tendency to have situations of overshooting or undershooting your target. It's as if the "dead-zones" aren't quite right causing your aiming cursor to go a little to far or just not far enough.

To each his own I guess.

Agree, personally I think the shooting in general was better in Red dead, from the aiming to the recoil to the sound effects. But still, it's alright. Free aim is the only way to play for me.

I always turn off aim assist in every game and i agree with some of the things u said about free aim. I use my controller with kontrol freeks to increase my accuracy even greater and have the sensitivity around 80 or 90% and i have no problem targeting headshots.

How I increase immersion: get it for PC when it comes

Graphics are a major component of immersion

Ontop of that, throw in a couple pedestrian density and traffic density mods and boom your city now looks and feels more real than ever before

I really hope Rockstar either REALLY delay GTA5 PC, or just don't bring it out at all, just to knock all you high-and-mighty PC gamers down a peg or two...

In the meantime, us console gamers will be enjoying the newest games on next-gen hardware whilst you guys are playing a last gen game with poorly made mods :)

@paul

'...just to knock all you high-and-mighty PC gamers down a peg or two'

Everything I said was factual, don't be so butthurt about it. Graphics are a factor of immersion, and PC will have best graphics

'...us console gamers will be enjoying the newest games on next-gen hardware'

hardware that is already half a decade behind PC

'...whilst you guys are playing a last gen game with poorly made mods'

New flash, mr ignorant, next gen games are available on PC and not every mod is poorly made.

Also, I really hope I don't have to tell you how idiotic and foolish it is to think GTA 5 won't come to PC. I'd say if you thought this, you were an ignorant kid with no concept of statistical trends

U must have no idea how much detail rockstar was able to cram in less than 512mb.

for sandbox play those tweaks sound good, but I would never get through the story that way.

These ideas are good in theory but nobody would be able to do that very often.

I play with free aim and for me it has its pros and cons...

Cons
You can get overwhelmed pretty quick when the AI is trying to flank you and can get quite intense when you have no special ability left to slow time down.

Pros.
-Head shots.. Head shots every where...
-Feels like this is the way the game was meant to be played
