The road to modern video games is littered with the corpses of noble game consoles who flew too high to the sun. Here are the 10 best under-achievers of all-time.
I miss my Sega Saturn, I really do some really epic franchises branched out from the Saturn.
None of those were ever underated. One or two was a shame they had to close up shop but they weren't "underated"
Dreamcast sucks ass.
Have you ever owned a Dreamcast? ;)
I dont see much point in owning something that was so ugly and killed in own gaming company in two months.
Anyone who's ever played a Dreamcast knows that it's one of the most underappreciated systems ever. -Soul Calibur -Jet Set Radio -Sonic Adventure -Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 -Street Fighter 3 TS Just to name a few. Seriously man, play the system before you say such stupid statements. Besides, you have a GTA4 avatar which means you know nothing about gaming. See how easy it is to make stupid nonsensical statements? You have two bubbles for a reason, use them more wiseley. Buy a Dreamcast, then come back to us. Until then, stop trolling.
You forgot Powerstone dude :P.
Yeah, you're right :) I also forgot Ikaruga and Mars Matrix! In my opinion, the Dreamcast is only second in quality of titles ONLY to the SNES, otherwise I would call the DC the best system of all time. Anyone who disagrees is one of those idiotic fanboys who's first gaming experience was Halo 3 or GTA San Andreas.
You forgot Rush 2049 and Hydro Thunder in high-res...How about Sega GT, the first driving sim that didn't have pixelation all over like in the ps1...
Shemnue and Sonic adventure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont think dreamcast or psp are underrated they just didn't sell so good. well except that now psp is outselling everything especially in Japan. and the others were just losers of its generations thats it. ps3 was heavily underrated in '06 and '07 but its shaping up now.
Oh and dreamcast's controllers were very comfortable.
if you think about it, the dreamcast controller is like the shape of the xbox controller...so just look at what you say
I'm loving Final Fantasy Crisis Core right now. Nice break from turn based RPGs, perfect type for the hand held.
to be honest. The turbografx (pc-engine) is actually quite a powerful little machine. It was really 8-bit but had the memory and power to deliver neogeo quality versions of art of fighting, fatal fury and world heroes better than the snes and genesis. The arcade card was needed to accommodate those games. I really liked being able to pop out the hucard and slip it into the turboexpress on the go. They had the best version of SF2 next to the arcade version at the time. Saturn was a great console for shmups and the dreamcast did fair to continue the legacy. It did 2-d better than sony which many would laugh at but it also balanced 3d pretty good too. No EA support meant no lasting power and it followed on to the DC as well. EA as a big supporter of the ps1 was a real driving force in those days. I have two saturn's. One for domestic retail games and the other for backup and imports. Dreamcast still continues to amaze me with new games coming out now and then. Much like the saturn, when support for it died from the big names, the smaller homebrew community stepped up and have come out with some great titles. I liked being able to run the pc version of doom and quake on the DC with custom boot discs. I can play lots of ps1 games on it using a custom version of bleem as opposed to the ones officially released (ltd to 3 games).
I owned the Sega Master System, Sega Game Gear, the Game Cube and currently own a PSP.
I miss Sega...
Now you got me thinking about the good old 90's and now I'm missing Sega too.
powerstone 1,2, vigilante 8, capcom vs snk 2000, guilty gear, WORMS ARMAGEDDON! this system is amazing and im glad i have one kinda...
